Comments: Well Trevor Crafton our ex edp-chamber guru who threw a tantrum when EDP was going down and preached at the top of his lungs how he knew so much about business development finally got his failing coffee shop sold. Now it’s official, the only way he can make money is with handouts from Courtney’s PACE program to help him rehab buildings that he can’t finance on his own.
Let’s be clear here folks the flower beds aren’t the only things struggling downtown. the Attic was sold again, a business in the trolly barn closed and of course Madpaddle bit the dust despite Courtney funneling money his way. Even the crazy guy at the book store won’t admit he’s got that dusty, musty place for sale. And there’s at least half dozen more stores who don’t want people to know they’re livin on a prayer.

Comments: So it looks like it’s time for the country to get a new ems system. No way kdh need that much money to run and we don’t have an ambulance a lot of time nowadays. Let’s hope that we go in a different direction soon

Comments: Mayor Courtney is a two faced Republican and only wants people that will praise him. I heard he wanted “his team” on place including Ferguson and Josh Wilber. He completely turned his back on Thevenow. The only one on city council with any intelligence. I hope Dan Dattilo campaigns and beats the * * * out of Courtney.

Comments: - Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected across southern Indiana and north central Kentucky Thursday night through Saturday. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts will be possible. Southern Indiana is mostly likely to see the highest rainfall totals and greatest flood risk according to the latest forecast data. - You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Comments: John B, you make a valid point. Ex: Look at the Judges race that Jeannie Stotts got defeated several years ago. Her opponent who had more dirty laundry on him than the Alabama Crimson Tide Football student manager has after practice in the hot August sun in Tuscaloosa. Yet, he still won because of 3 to 1 straight ticket vote she was fighting. She is a hometown girl done good for herself. Did awesome in College. Had a successful practice in town. The only thing she didn't have was a (R) next to her name on the ballot. The guy who had all the dirty laundry and not even from this area still got the majority. Good and Knowledgeable Democrats will not go through the hassle because of the apathy. If your going to inject change. Better bring your energy to reshaping local GOP politics.

Comments: Courtney is too much of a coward to support his own incumbent city council member Thevenow - I’d bet money he put that Ferguson woman up against him. He’s got both of their signs in his yard but look at the homes with Ferguson signs - Bob supporters. David Carlow can’t take a * * * without Courtney’s permission so I can only imagine he asked Bobby before putting up that Ferguson sign

Comments: To old G.O.A.T and gop'er - Your political ravings and analysis, make a huge erroneous assumption that Madison voters at large - know what you know, think like you think, and care about those things that you point out as the failings of each local party and governance. Well, I don't dispute your versions of the facts, but, voters at large are generally apathetic, uninformed and loyal to their party affiliations. Unless and until there is a "disruption" in city services that directly impact residents - trash begins to pile up, the water turns brown, the city "actually" runs out of money, etc, it will be, as it has been, politics as usual.

Comments: I'm going to add my two cents to the discussion. The good ol boys who have run this town for many years, haven't been happy about being pushed aside by Courtney. He doesn't get their permission every time he makes a decision. I've been a Democrat my entire life and have witnessed the money grabbing control freaks for far too long. I think the town have improved immensely.

Comments: If u don’t feel like changing ur voting habits and sticking with straight Republican voting. U have one other option and only one. Get a group together to run for precinct committee on the local GOP committee. Get a majority and flat out take the power away from the group who currently has control. That takes unity and may take several cycles to be able to call the shots u desire. But it can be done. Other than this enjoy swimming in ur alternative facts.
