It won't be too often that I admit that I might have made a mistake so pay attention...

I criticized mayor hunting for wanting to build a super hi-way from Interstate 65 through Austin straight into Madison connecting with Main Street Downtown. Even his supporters MIDCOR, the local news paper, and all the gang lined up to support his claim of "Father knows best" and they all got on the band wagon except us and we made a mistake - "I guess". Even the $30,000.00 study by the CMP stated that it would be a bad idea to make a super hi-way from the Interstate and bring all that traffic through "Rural America" to here. Well, she was wrong too - "I guess".

Our beloved mayor had it right.

That new Super Hi-Way would bypass Louisville and all those eighteen wheelers hauling steel to Carrollton, Ghent and Warsaw Kentucky could just zip down through Kent right down Main Street Madison and on over to Kentucky, Wow!! What a brilliant idea mayor hunting and MIDCOR and The Mayors Newspaper and all his gang had.

Just think of all the new commerce this could bring to Madison. We would have to hire more police to patrol Main Street cause the big eighteen-wheelers will surely exceed the 20 MPH Speed Zone and someone will have to protect the kids on bicycles and skateboards cause the mayor threw them off the sidewalks. We'll have to hire more school crossing guard's cause the kiddies won't be able to cross the streets to get to school without being run over. Markt Lytle the undertaker will get more business cause somebody will surely be run over. We'll have to hire more road crews cause all those eighteen-wheelers will be overloaded and tear up the roads. And with all that diesel fuel and slime the window washers on Main Street will have to work overtime to keep up with the crud, not to mention where is the street sweeper.

And last but not least we can build a Truck Stop for gambling and prostitution somewhere near the quarter million dollar shitter on Main Street for all those tourist truckers.
