The City of Madison declares skateboarding illegal

We agree with Jan Vetrhus of Madison. "The young people of this town have been begging for a place to skate for at least five years. The city has done nothing and now declares it illegal".

I wonder what the Mayor and his council puppets would do if golfing were declared illegal ii Madison? I know what they would do and so do you.

The vacant, one square block at First and West Streets would make a great city park for all citizens of Madison to enjoy. There is an unlimited number of projects that could be done there. The Mayor of Madison, Al Huntington, has rejected the idea of a park at this location saying that this is a prime location for economic development.

This vacant square block is in the heart of Historic Downtown right square in the middle of the flood plane. You cant build a factory here or much of anything. This is not a "prime location for economic development", this is a vacant square block of city property that the speculators are trying to figure on how to make a profit on. Instead of trying to beautify our city they want to grease their own pockets, of course this is just an opinion.

Being that the vacant block belongs to us, I say we put it on the ballot for a vote so that those we entrusted as caretakers of our property can't do with it as they please to line their pockets. Any thing other than a public city park here would be out of place.
