Comments: That article on the Madison Courier site about the 100 downtown AirBNBs is about as full of * * * as the port o lets during Regatta. They absolutely can be prevented if they would put a cap on the number of licenses issued. But let's just let the rich continue to wave their money in our faces and buy up downtown for AirBNBs though right?

Comments: You know Bobs outta control when he picks on Santa Claus. Seriously Bob got mad at the guy who’s our local Santa and was mad because Santa had the gumption to ask a question. Bob fired back he thought they were friends as of a friend wouldn’t have any right to disagree or ask a question. I guess that’s the point. Bob expects blind allegiance and loyalty. Even from Santa

Comments: Yes I’ve seen the mayors Facebook page today. No I can’t explain why he made such odd comments. He is fully aware the attorney’s letter is posted here and on the Riverfront Defense Page. He follows both closely. He has seen all the posts including those that thank Richard Ice for his work managing the page . It’s no secret Richard has done an outstanding job sharing information. In a few short weeks Richard led a small team that helped the page grow from zero to more than 1300. The official Republican Party has 1000 “like” as does the democrat page. Both have been in existence for years. So yes, Richard has done a remarkable job creating and building a public information page that has shared many of the mayor’s own posts. But it’s not a secret that Richard Ice manages the page anymore than it’s a secret that Warren Auxier stood in public and warned the council and mayor that legal action was coming if the mayor continued to deceive the public and conduct himself in an illegal manner. Auxiers own property on the riverfront and rightfully have an interest in the proposed district and any development. Dr. Bob Candida received a standing ovation at the Ivy Tech meeting . He has been very open about helping fund legal fees. He has talked with Bob numerous times about the development and Bobs conduct throughout the hearing processes. I can’t imagine the mayor doesn’t know that numerous upstanding, financially diverse citizens are supporting the riverfront defense project. I don’t understand why he is upset about newspaper ads or a mailer - It’s not like they published top secret information. They printed councils email and phone numbers for goodness sake. It’s information available on the city website and- or business listings. Photos and information come straight from the grant documents Bob helped prepare. No one is sharing anyone’s personal data, so why bother being so emotional over publishing something that is part of the public record and has been for years? So no, I can’t explain “whats going on with Bob”. Maybes he’s just upset that he had to read a letter that detailed, right down to the specific Indiana codes- the lies he has told and illegal actions he has taken. Maybe he just had a bad day. I am sorry I have no answers. Tjh.

Comments: I didn't get the mailer either, because I live in the buffer zone. But I did get to see it. It's well done very informative and says all it needs to say. Thanks for whoever put this together, and keeps it stirred up. I don't want any more put on that River than is already down there. As for Courtney, he better get some thicker skin, and a thicker wallet. It looks like the fertilizers getting ready to hit the ventilator. Bobby this is just what you get when you think you're the king and all you are is a want to be king. Reminds me of trump. He just keeps on keeping on., in this instance it's going to be stopped.

Comments: The mayor’s just lost it. It’s not a melt down he’s just lost his mind accusing some secret persons or group of spreading false information. Maybe he doesn’t know the attorney letter is up on JBs page? Is that even possible? Why all the conspiracy theories about unknown people who are being mean or lying . I thought the lawyers letter pretty much explained everything and that was Bobs a liar and has done a lot of illegal things when it comes to the riverfront district and luxury apartments. Truth is I bet JB broke the story before Bob looked at his email. Maybe that explains the tantrum or maybe he just didn’t think the people who told him they’d go after this would actually do what they said they’d do. That was a dumb bet.

Comments: Wow. What a meltdown from Mayor Bob this morning on Facebook. It is sad. He sounds like a petulant five-year-old arguing with his mother in the candy aisle at the grocery store. I don’t think he realizes that he is not helping the case for his pet project.
It is time for the city council to look at this from a different perspective. Does the city have the funds to fight lawsuits in court? It sounds like the current letter from the attorney is just round one of the stench emanating from this deal. In addition, the Tort Claims from Ethan Brown and his wife will not go away at zero expense to the city. Given that Jenner is named in both, the city will ultimately require outside council. Where will the money come from?
It is time for Mayor Bob to check his ego and take a loss. Perhaps the city council will put their constituents first and not vote to move forward.
Admin reply: Bob Courtney calling ads in the newspaper and direct mail against the Riverfront Project irresprehensible. The Mayor clearly doesn't understand the word "Democracy." I think Bob needs a history lesson that goes all the way back to the year 1776. This is the year Thomas Paine and the pamphlet "Common Sense" circulated 100,000 copies in just a few months that helped push undecided Americans towards independence. The ads against the Riverfront Project is cut from the very fabric that started the country. There is nothing more American than these Ads. Its been said on this blog for months but I will say it again. Bob Courtney is Anti-Madisonian!

Comments: Rumors, rumors , and more rumors. Guess who's meeting in the jail with John Scott talking about land up there behind Walmart that John owns. Hey, Kevin Kellems! you aren't invisible , everybody sees you and you still have to sign in. I hear Bobs promising money to a local developer again. Maybe Hammacks? At least its local even if Bob hasn't learned his lesson and is still cutting deals behind closed doors.
Speaking of...Anybody know how Hammacks development is coming across from north entrance to Clifty? How about the guy that bought the place back where the radio station is? He's got a plan for lots of little houses. Courtney must be thinking we're gonna have this big rush of people moving to Madison. Where they gonna work now that places are cutting back?
