Yes, admin, farmers are selling their properties rather than continuing to farm them. I don't think the solar companies are to blame for that, maybe if someone wants to keep the land in farming they should purchase the property.

Only five other counties have lost more farm acreage than Jefferson County. Time to quit pretending solar farms are the problem and start asking if farmers even want to farm anymore  in Jefferson County .

The record of a team is not a good tell of the coaching job done at this point for any sport at Madison. Since leaving the HHC and playing significantly worse teams, all athletic teams should be expected to have the best record in program history. If you aren’t playing Floyd, BNL, Columbus East and other good schools you obviously aren’t going to lose as much.

Since the Supreme Court ruled cities can punish people for sleeping in public places, can Madison get some ordinances in place ASAP to deal with homeless encampments and vagrants sleeping in our woods, public parks and shelter houses? It could be something like giving them a choice of confining them to a certain area where they can be registered, monitored and given access to services or else move out of the jurisdiction. All homeless should be on a trajectory to obtain stability, not just allowed to laze in the public spaces doing drugs, fornicating in the open and doing whatever else it is they fill their days with.

AD fires ANOTHER coach. One that gave the best record in years for softball. One he put on a plan after that season, that coach followed it and still gets fired. Who’s surprised? I assume that Brian Armbrecht told ad to fire him because his daughter got hurt. But Mr. armbrecht is too hard headed to realize that maybe practicing hours after the schools practice might have played a part.

When will the school board step aside from firing coaches? When will the ad grow a pair and stand his ground?

The veteran begging up near Walmart does not need assistance. Our local VSO has been notified. The gentleman is from Kentucky but has received much help. He had a place to live and support but occasionally “begs because he can”. Thank you to Faith and the VSOs office for responding to concerns . Tami

Admin reply: No veteran should have to beg for food or shelter!

ANY veteran in Jefferson County needing real help contact us. No BS...

I don’t know who is running the 4th of July parade now. I have learned that several floats are not participating this year because they are only allowed to have red, white and blue patriotic themed floats. They are only allowed to use patriotic music. In other words, there will be 20 of the same looking and sounding floats. How boring.

I’d rather have 30 different riding lawnmowers!

Way to dilute your product Madison!
