Thank you for all the texts , emails, questions etc- I will explain the DuPont Town Board issues as well as a few solar updates and address the city exec session as soon as I can. It may take a few days. Until then a quick one- the airstrip and much of jpg are not suitable for solar panel because it’s a wildlife refuge or is unsafe due to unexploded ordinance. However Mr. Ford has land that might be viable but there are several possible projects for JPg- Solar is one, rail, data center, mud run or recreational park or any number of other ideas being tossed about. Solar contracts are usually 25-30 years so it’s important to allow time to consider all options- including the option that there may be unknown opportunities or limited options. Regardless those power lines that can transmit lots of energy are as good as having 8 lane interstates run through our county when we think about moving “energy”. I’ll get back. Until then thank you Fred S. for the help on the ongoing Shawe problems. I’ll leave those to you and Jeff. As for comments about MCS school board candidtaes - I endorse Mr. Bentz. Not opposed to the proposed solar farm, just believe a better site would be at the old airport area at JPG or at Marble Hill. Why use prime farmland when we have those to properties available for development

While I applaud his efforts to get an SRO at Shawe Phil messed up this time. I was told today that they have hired an SRO who has no training to be a police officer. He has been a transport officer driving prisoners around. No police experience what so ever. And get this, he is an Armstrong!!!! We all know how well that went for Madison schools. Phil hired him to be a yes man and to control him due to his lack of experience. Shawe has routinely not handled situations fairly. If you get caught with drugs and your family has money you get away scott free. If you don't have money you get prosecuted and kicked out of school. Phil needs to go!!!!!

SO glad to see to see the progressive think tank that is the Madison collective is at it again. Nooooo, we don't want all those heroin addicts that a riverboat would bring. Noooo, we don't want a solar farm because we have such great farming in Madison. Adapt, or get left (further) behind.

Yes, I also saw where Posey County has set up guidelines so these Solar Companies park their Arse in that County.

This project of over 3000 acres, the Solar company hides behind the FARM use when in Reality it's a Energy INDUSTRY.
Each parcel separately should need a zoning Change from Agricultural to Industrial.

Just saw article in Prairie Farmer about Posey County in Indiana has dealt with solar farms.
Mentioned ordinances. Jefferson County needs to talk to those commissioners about what they did.
Why do we think we can do it ourselves when there are counties that have knowledge and experiences with solar farms?
Seem like we think we know it all!
