The mayor is quoted in today's Madison Courier that it would be too difficult to hold the June 16 Plan Commission Meeting anyplace other than city hall. Citizens are publicly and vocally arguing that he held a city council meeting at Hunter Hall to discuss a Solar Farm. In the past meetings have also been held at the Brown Gym. The public is pointing out it wasn’t too difficult just a few months back. But Bob is encouraging people to watch the meeting on YouTube instead of providing a safe, comfortable meeting location for the many interested in attending.

The public is dismissing Bobs excuses. I’m inclined to support those who point out that the mayor provided mics, speakers, internet access and assured the solar meeting could be broadcast. I attended that solar meeting so clearly neither the location nor technology is a problem.

I copied this from the person asking me to post - “Call and ask for a public meeting at Brown Gym! Leave a message for Planning Commission. They didn't ask my name. (812-265-8324). Show up Stand up Speak up! “

Thank you for reaching out. Glad to help. Tjh

It is important if you wish to post anonymously that you not post publicly on Facebook with essentially the same comments on JBs page. While you may not want others to exercise their right to free speech and be afraid they have valid points- creating imaginary scenarios in hopes of inflaming others or scaring people is irresponsible. Please don’t use JBs page for such things. Keep the drama to Facebook. The planned protest is a peaceful gathering of those from both sides of the river interested in exercising their right to gather as well as speak against government. If you are frightened- stay home. But again- try to remember not to duplicate messages you have publicly posted on Facebook if you wish to stay anonymous. Tjh

You've just got to love the politics of both parties in the city and county. First we a have an egotistical narcissist mayor and now the democratic party wants you to join in a protest on June 14. Walking by the demo headquarters I asked a woman going in just what are you protesting? She said it's actually to promote unity between Indiana and Kentucky (didn't realize there was a problem, guess you have to create one) and to meet at the bridge. So I asked is it to promote or protest, her only reply was well there is a lot to protest in this country. Hahahaha what an answer. So I would urge anyone not to go but rather honor their country on flag day than still try to tear the country down :)

Hey Mayor,
Build some affordable housing at the Rucker Sports Complex.
It hasn’t been used since you became Mayor. Thanks for supporting our youth - Loser!

I believe the Mayor mentioned 56 apartments. Could someone please share the details to these apartments? How many one bedroom apartments? What is the square footage of a one bedroom or two bedroom or three if those exist? What is the projected rent going to cost for these affordable apartments? River front verses non river front view? The Mayor and Tony know these answers, but seem very reluctant to share this information with the public. Also what is the planned parking for this proposed apartment building? I feel very confident that these issues has been fully discussed between the mayor and the proposed developer. Transparency goes a long way. If Your Being Honest Mr. Mayor!!

From what I understood at the plan commission meeting, the residents would be parking at the Jefferson and Second city lot.

I/m old! so will someone please explain to me how those apartments will work! I know "they" said they will be built over a parking garage. Well, the river was in that same area where the garage will be so,how will they get out of their apartments thru the garage if the river is flooded?

1. picked an unneccessary fight with a business owner on main st. made him look extremely bad.
2. he lied to county first responders and opened up treacherous roads. Results more than 20 people in cars in harms way and needed to be pulled out of a ditch.
3. Made administration changes with Deputy Mayor, Communications director, and financial director. results higher salaries being paid to these losers.
4. lost respect of most of his department heads
5. everyone in town speaks of how the man looks. Seems like an underlying problem going on at home.
6. I'm sure I'm missing about two other poor decisions he has made this year. Please let us know what I have forgotten.
You guessed it. This is the Mayor who has been in office for 6 plus years. His job performance is going down the drain so low the pipes r rejecting him. Yet, these City Council and Zoning people will do what an incredible majority of the people do not want them to do. I don't get it. How can this small group of people who many of us have known since we were kids go against what this great community wants? The lies upon lies Courtney and Steinhardt r telling people is just unacceptable. The behavior this year on other things than just this riverfront project is irreprehensible. The Mayor has said it several times including on facebook this past week. " You don't understand what we are trying to do." Well tell us Bob what is it really? Is the developer giving you a job after your term? U getting some sort of kickback? Thats what I think it is because building affordable housing with one bedroom apartments at $1500 a month is not affordable housing in Madison,In.

I don't understand what a solar farm has to do with the Northern Lights. And I don't have a dog in this fight. Just asking.

Admin reply: A solar FARM has nothing to do with a solar STORM.
