Comments: Mayor Moneyhemmorhage griping about no new downtown housing developments in 50 years. How about capping how many innkeeper licenses are issued so half of downtown isn't AirBNBs. Downtown was not designed for new development, that's why we have a hilltop and Heaven forbid he invest any money up here. And where's the Wawa??

Comments: How many liquor license do we need in Madison? I get for the new restaurant and the new social club. But to have all these Riverboat license open is a bit much. What are we going to have a drinking bit every time anything is going on. The next thing we will be selling alcohol at the pool. I have a drink now and then so I'm not a snob about it. So is this to help the food and beverage tax? I guess one way to boost more revenue for the Mayor to spend.

Comments: Why would any parent move to Madison who have kids in sports, when they find out little league doesn't exist. Does anyone remember Mr Johann and his small stars teams,Mr Konkle Mr Vanwye, Birch Johnson. Or going to see Chris Bass, Bryan Bullington play baseball, basketball. To get those kind of players you need programs to get it done. Why you you think in the 70s over 5000 fans went to see the cubs showed up I should also name Bob Kring and his wife. They helped so many kids to be really good players. I'm sure Mr Gary O'neal appreciated that. The city government has quit on the kids, and put their efforts into filling wine glasses and paying for countless dinners on sandbaggers. When a town starts coming up with new, never heard of tax ideals, it tells me they don't know how to handle the money. . Read between the lines.

Comments: Courtney isn’t running again- in informal polls Steinhardt is beat to death by Councilman Thevenow and can’t win against certain democrats .
You’ll know which city council members care about your opinion if they show up at Thevenow’s public session. One other city council member asked for public input in the form of “round tables”- maybe he will be there. But with Krebs public declaration she no longer cares what constituents think and Mr. Barlett being ill and Wilbur and Schafer working for Grote- the company that pushed the idea - the two have a major conflict of interest. Overall - I don’t think you are going to see much shift and that’s before you get to Lucy - who I’m told is dead set on kissing the mayors keister (not my words). But don’t give up hope - trust me they are listening- but so far- getting them to care is the problem.
Facing resistance, the mayor became exasperated and half whined - half asked the public- what do you want to do about housing if you don’t want this? He went on to complain there has been no new housing developed downtown the last 50 years. I’ll get the facts and few answers in a later post.
Thank you Jeff for sharing the information on your page. I appreciate you sharing the readership numbers with me and by the way - they are very impressive! Have a wonderful day everyone Tjh

Comments: @old timer: Your absolutely right about the Rucker Sports Complex. I helped build the complex, umpired hundreds of games, and ran leagues at Rucker for many years. The blame doesn't solely ride on Courtney's. The one I'm most disappointed with his Carla Eades Krebs. She did the same thing I did for many years at Rucker. We worked many many games together. At first, I was excited when she was voted in as City Council. I thought she could use her athletic accomplishments and build on youth sports in this town especially at the Rucker Sports Complex. I believed she could be the shining example for our youth. Instead, she would rather play pickle ball every afternoon and do what Bob tells her to do. You could fix the problems at Rucker. You would have to put your selling shoes on. Meet with the current parents and talk em one by one into coming back. It might take a couple of years. Then do a creative thing or two. The place would thrive again. Unfortunately, the Mayor and Carla either don't have the capacity, don't care, or is just extremely lazy. It's one of the those. Just pick one.

Comments: As a reminder there’s only 8months to the May primary where we already look to having a gop sheriff primary and 15 months to general elections next year. Most of those will be county and trustee positions .
It’s 27 months to the city council and mayoral general elections. Already people are swearing they won’t vote republican because of Trump, Braun, Courtney and his little gaggle of 6 council who do exactly what he tells them.

Comments: Yes I do I'm upset, this town is not what it once was. Courtney has just about priced to sell out of here. At this city and this community! It sure is a sad day when they can tell us what we're going to do. Over and over again. I wonder if the tourists know when they come to this town what a dirty little town it is. We get this town all cleaned up from the criminals and next thing you know we got more criminals running the town again. And the ones that aren't are Yes Men. It's just Bob what can we do for you yes Bob can we do can we vote for you for that can we do that for you. Well to all you Bobby voters once a snake always a snake. And you know it was a snake when you picked him up. Let's not make him a three-term mayor let's put him out of there. So we can find out how much did he's got us into it sure is a sad day in madtown. It's back Remains the damage that he's done we will never be able to clean up.

Comments: In reading the previous post and sitting here watching the Little League championship, I think the biggest travesty the current administration has done is up at Rucker complex. They say they are planning for our future while destroying our youth sports. They don't care about the locals that have lived here all their lives.Just tourism. So we trade youth sports for tourism. And Bob and his stooges that he helped put in positions are responsible. Just remember who votes for Bob's * * * and vote them all out. Return Madison back to the citizens!

Comments: @Fred S. Perfectly said. You have echoed the feelings of so many citizens of Madison. Look at what happens to those who share an intelligent opinion or opposition. The ELECTED members of city council need to remember why they are there - to represent the people. Not the king.l and the assistant king...
