Comments: Jefferson county added to disaster declaration. Up to Trump to act and FEMA to respond. I’ll post additional resources later. Thank you to local EMA and response team for continuing efforts to get state to act. Braun needs a * * * kicking. Tjh

Comments: I see on WRBI that "Gov. Declares State of Disaster Emergency for Dearborn, Other Counties," and I see "Other counties included in the declaration are Bartholomew, Brown, Clark, Crawford, Delaware, Gibson, Hamilton, Harrison, Lake, Madison, Marshall, Martin, Owen, Perry, Posey, Spencer, and Warrick."
Not for Jefferson?

Comments: Cops are allowed to do outside jobs within county limits in their police car. Most work security at the hospital, using their patrol car. The construction company probably reached out to the local departments to get an officer for the job. Contact the board if you have an issue with it. But they aren't doing anything against policy, rules, laws, etc. Confused? Then get informed. And stop complaining.

Comments: I don’t think you understand how much our democratic republic utilizes real concepts from socialism to function. Capitalism is I’ve got mine you are on your own. Socialism is everyone works and everyone receives- obviously Medicare and social security are two socialist concepts. Libraries and free public schools are also such things.
Braun won’t be in for the Regatta. Can’t believe he’d show his face here. Did he ever declare us a disaster area?

Comments: Can someone please explain why there is a Hanover cop doing traffic control on Hanging rock hill today? I live in Hanover and the cops here are never working when you need one, and now I see they are working for Madison in a Hanover police car with the engine running all day burning up the gas that Hanover residents are paying for! Does MPD not have enough officers to handle this?

Comments: Now you know why socialism won't work in the long run. I've got mine so whatever happens to someone else is of no concern of mine.

Comments: How can a post be so wrong? Complaining that the people trying to get rid of veterans benefits and tax exemptions never served...you do understand that the current vice president was a marine right? 72 Republicans served...There are approximately 100 members of Congress (currently) who served:
Nine female veterans will serve in Congress in 2025, the largest total in history. The group includes 28 Democrats and 72 Republicans. Congress will have 46 Army veterans, 25 Navy veterans, 16 Air Force veterans and 13 Marine Corps veterans. About one-third (31) began their military careers after January 2000. Twenty-one started before 1980. Twenty veterans will serve in the Senate, and 80 will serve in the House. Texas has the largest caucus of members with military experience (11), followed by Florida (9) and California (7)

Comments: With all due respect, why should the state and federal governments bail people out every time the Ohio River floods. People have chosen to build in these places like Hanover Beach so they should bear the cost of protecting and repairing their homes - Not My Tax Dollars. Same goes for ocean front homes and condos. The state and federal governments should not be funding repairs to private businesses or homes. That’s what private insurance is for.
Regarding the Madison pool, it was a stupid idea to build such an extravagant ($12M+) in the floodplain. Our financial guru Mayor forgot about ongoing maintenance costs.
Now, he wants to open a new driving range at the old dump (police shooting range and believes that will alleviate the departments $500,000 annual budget shortfall under this administration. Disappointing that for two years now, the City of Madison hasn’t offered any summer youth programs. What a lousy Mayor.
