Comments: So as I understand you can build in a flood plain but as I also understand, nobody can show where anyone is building multi residential apartments in dangerous flood plains. The federal government doesn’t want people building in flood plains so they make it hard and as you explained the city ordinances look pretty hard too. So who’s the flood plain guy in Jefferson County? Shouldn’t this person be speaking up against putting people in harms way? I get you can build high enough to stay out of big risk but my gosh these people may have to stay out of their home for a week or more. What do you do with them and their pets? I guess you could just strand them there but what if they need an ambulance ? This just seems dangerous and foolish.

Comments: I just read an extensive report about the City Financials. The years of 2026 and 2027 will have serious deficit. The revenues the city takes in do an adequate job. It is just the Mayors excess spending that cripples the community. This guy doesn't know what he is doing after the communities six year investment in his tenure as Mayor. We all thought he had the resume and skills to be a solid public servant that would guide the town through in a new incredible phase of growth. Instead, we got a fraudster. Everything the man does looks great on the surface. In all cases, just take your fingernail and scratch the surface. Everytime, you realize it's all done with smoke and mirrors. The guy is robbing Peter to pay Paul. We have to get rid of him and these City Council people who just follow his every move. This report is quite eye opening and if you care about Madison. You should be worried and I mean really worried.

Comments: Wouldn't worry about those IKE trucks much longer. Place will start decommissioning in 3 years and any big trucks toting off toxic coal sludge will be done in 5. They won't be able to comply with the new MATS rules anyway. Place is a cold war relic that loses money every day. Only reason it's even open still today is the Ohio subsidies.

Comments: "People just don't understand what I'm trying do." This could be said by anybody. Bank Robber, why did you rob the bank. "People just don't understand." Gunman, Why did you shoot all those people in the nightclub. "People just don't understand." Hey buddy, why did you sleep with my wife. "You just don't understand." Now we got a Madison Mayor everytime he turns around and does something that doesn't make sense. Then a citizens ask him why he did this. His answer, "people just don't understand." Then he follows the answer up with nothing. He won't elaborate on the issue. Thats just his answer and he is sticking with it. Bob, why won't you release the City Financials. "people just don't understand." This is the opposite of full transparency. We should expect more out of our Mayor. But then again, Bob just doesn't understand. It is comical!

Comments: Word in Hinkles this morning was Madison basketball coach has been taking school cars and driving them down to Louisville. Best part, wasn’t supposed to be driving them and it was for his own use. I’m sure nothing will come of that. Your local tax dollars at work as always at madison schools.

Comments: While the mayor is distracting you with all the TAX'S he pushing throught the heritage trial idea, I am not sure which phase it is but in one of the phase's he going to use one lane of HANOVER HILL to be golf cart, walking and running and god knows what else. This means one lane East and West think how you feel with semi's going up and down going to IKE you walking next to them. Safety not a concern at all

Comments: As the name emplys, I'm old! But, just like the new construction on the riverfront, I don't understand the Main Street project. Why start in the middle? Doesn't it make more sense to start on one end or the other and besides, the 3 blocks that are being done are 3 of the best of the lot! It just has to be a man thing!

Comments: Mayor went on the city Facebook page to say that people dont understand what he’s doing on Main Street. Hey Hitler Bob maybe they understand , maybe they aren’t stupid. Maybe they just think your ability to plan road repairs is to say the least INCOMPETENT and you’re the one with your head up your arse!
Also well said Mr. Auxier. You work so hard to help this town and county.

Comments: Because it would greatly increase the exposure of people and property to the dangers of future flooding, Mayor Courtney’s application to create a new Riverfront District in a floodplain should not even be considered, let alone approved, by the Plan Commission and/or City Council.
The city has a long and well justified history of reducing the exposure to flooding by establishing open spaces and not allowing new building construction in the city’s flood prone areas.
The city should be commended. Their decision not to allow new construction in the open space areas has reduced, to just a handful, the number of families and businesses which are displaced when flooding does occur.
The mayor’s proposed new Riverfront District and corresponding Development Regulations would allow multifamily dwellings to be constructed in the floodplain. This would increase the number of families displaced by future flooding from a handful to potentially hundreds, and undo many years of progress.
If multifamily dwellings are going to be allowed in the proposed Riverfront District it is essential the District Regulations require construction standards which assure families can safely access and occupy the building when flooding does occur. The District Regulations the mayor has presented are totally inadequate.
