The coal yard site on Jefferson and Vaughn Dr.for Apartments is a beautiful location for housing on the River. With parking on the bottom and living area above it makes sense to use that space.
The Apartments on the hill behind Hobby Lobby. This is not Bob or Tony's fault. The access to this location is a very difficult task to overcome. Will the existing Drainage Pond be able to take in the additional Apartments runoff? While also being reduced and filled in to make Access to the planned Apartments? This pond also has to handle ALL future outlets behind Autozone and Subway.
Currently the pond is huge! With its reduction and added buildings it may be close to being @ capacity. It's a True Challenge.
I Never Defend Bob and Tony but I will on these 2 Issues.

Comments: Seem our good Mayor is at it again. He goes out and gets a $2 million grant for apartments on Vaughn Dr before he ask the people of Madison if they want apartments on Vaughn Dr. Once again he thinks this is Bobby dictatorship. He can't even get the apartments built on the hill so se is going to trash the riverfront. Way to go Bobby.

Comments: @ MCHS Teacher. How do you and your colleagues feel about using resources for an early learning center/daycare? There is no way it will pay for itself, so the money will have to come from the school system. No raises for teachers? Lose SRO program? Cut programs? Cut staff from central office?
Does Mr. Roney have your buildings up to date and free of significant maintenance issues? I would hope keeping our current facilities would be the highest priority. Is an early learning center really where tax dollars need to be spent?
Taxpayers…. pay attention to what’s going on. Before you know it Dr Brown will be bonding the school to the max and placing the school in a financial crisis in a few years.
We stopped the foolish spending last time. Let’s hope we can do it again.

Comments: For the past 2 years, Madison schools have declined. The superintendent was ran out of Jennings for mismanagement and putting her favorites in certain spots. She leaves, then slowly all of MCSC gains her people. She replaces people that question her and remove people that challenge her. She loaded up with yes people. I don’t fault Lawhead. Maybe he just wants to keep his job so he’s doing everything she wishes. I’m glad my kids are at Southwestern and not dealing with those shenanigans.
You want change??? Change at the top down. Go to your school board. They have the power over her.

Comments: To really Bob: You are correct in all accounts. I knew I made the typo but it was very hard to fix because you can't always get things to work the way you want to on a small device. It was all due to voice recognition. I'm waiting for him to say one word about my misspelling. That is why I asked the question. After all, at least I didn't end my sentence with a preposition.Traditional rules of English grammar state that one should never end a sentence with a preposition. That being said, the word ''to'' is a good example of why this isn't always true. While it's generally best to avoid placing prepositions at the end of the sentence, it can sometimes be more awkward not to do it. However, his usage is definitely incorrect. If he had changed the grammatics of his statement then it could have been written properly. However, I'm sure that the way he writes is also the way he speaks.

Comments: Why did Courtney cancel out two home owners who qualified for PACE grants and give them to business who don’t need the money. Seriously Jim Pruitt Real estate and the boys from the Chandler Hotel! Sure the guys are nice but do we really need to steal opportunities from less fortunate who truly needed the money. Heck even the mean azz preservation lady stood up to point out Pruitt and Chandler didn’t even meet the criteria to apply.

Comments: Bill, it's probably a typo. There are no rules against typos on texting, blogs etc. I'm sure everything you type is perfect all the time online. Look where they work. Look at what and who they have to face everyday. Give them a break. If MCHS two teacher is who I think it is, I don't think you want your next one graded. Perhaps maybe you are one of the people in the subject matter.

Comments: Yes, several Frisch's in Ohio/KY/IN have been served eviction notices by the land owner, including the one in Lawrenceburg. That story was posted seven days ago on Eagle Country news 99.3. I have not seen the same confirmation for Madison, but given the state of things, I wouldn't doubt it. I did see the property listed for sale at some point in the past year but can no longer find the listing when I search for it. Maybe the sale is pending or they decided to go a different route. The restaurant has been on a downward slide for fifteen years, probably due largely to changes mandated by corporate combined with the pandemic. I know they had a sewage problem at one point and it seemed neither the landlord nor the tenant wanted to address it.

Comments: Totally agree with you comments. I would also add to Lawheads group of idiots, the high school counselors. They are led by the biggest back stabber of the all, J. Smith. Change really needs to happen for MCHS, especially within the upper leadership. Also didn't one of their cross country coaches just receive a DUI. The athletic department really knows how to pick them.
