Comments: Annonymous, you say you want doge to come to town--don't worry the new governor is implementing State changes to mirror Federal wishes. He's got his million dollar cabinet. His salary has increased. He's pushing out workers at all levels, no raises for those left behind. Madison schools stand to lose $829,000 in funding in 2026, more than a million in 2027 and 2028. Most surrounding school districts looking at similar losses under the new regime. Don't think for a minute that the admins are going to go without a raise. They'll make up for it with no teacher raises, won't hire replacements, cut aide positions and gut enrichment programs. Hope you're ready to buy a lot more chocolate bars and magazine subscriptions to fund education. Meanwhile, they won't touch city hall because those officials have the right friends and are in the right club.

Comments: Why is the City in the golf course business? For the exact same reasons it is in the ballpark business, the riverfront business, the lake business, the park business. To provide recreation for the taxpayers. Not a difficult concept to grasp. Unless you just want to whine about other people having a good time and improving their health in the great outdoors. It's not there to turn a profit, it's there to provide recreation. Seriously, whine about some other highly important topic.

Comments: I've asked this question before, but I'll ask again. Why is the city of Madison in the golf course business? Most all golf courses make money or there wouldn't be so many.

Comments: The Clerk Treasurer certainly was not doing her job if she wasn't reporting to the council and the mayor that the park fund was running in the red! There are checks and balances within the city budgets.Someone just has to be watching.

Comments: 575k the parks overspent, who oversees what's going on. Whose on the parks committee ? Carla Krebs, she's also pres of city council. Now the money to make up the 575k overture is coming from alot of other places. Of course the director of parks was let go. But shouldn't others be held accountable? Just a fall guy. These people also live pretty well. Accountability Take responsibility, more then 1 person is accountable
