Just thinking about the luxury apartments proposed on the river.
53 units st $2000 per month. That's$24,000 per year. If you spend 20% on housiy, you would need to earn $120.000 per year. There are not 53 unfilled jobs in our community. If you are a young couple you would have to earn$60,000 each. That is 106 positions.

The only other renters would be wealthy retirees. They are normally good with their money and will only draw from retirement when needed. Lessoning their local tax contributioI honestly have no dog in this fight, but I wonder how many units will sit empty.I'm in

Just when I thought Mayor Bobby couldn't go any lower. Using the fine folks serviced by Archer and good ol John Schneider to make himself look good. Excuse me while I hold my nose, smells like đŸźđŸ’© in here!

If you enjoy the game of basketball. You know a team that uses a full court press defense as a weapon. The very team does not like the full court press defense applied to there offense. The same goes for Bully’s. That is what the Mayor and his City Council is doing to us. They want to knock us around at will. Guess what? They told us on Tuesday night they don’t like to be bullied themselves. What I”m saying is we have a little less than two weeks to bring the full court press at the City Council. Call these council people twenty times a day. Email them at will. If you’re going to the bathroom at 2:43am. On the way back to bed reach for your phone and call them. If you see the Mayor on the street tell him he smells like a skunk. I know the readers of this forum love Madison. This City Council is trying to changer your way of life. We need to bring it and make them respect us!

I get it, sorting aluminum cans is a nasty job. Even the homeless refuse to pick cans, preferring to stand on the corner with signs directing you to their Cash App accounts. How much is raised in an average month from donated cans? In a year? How many labor hours are required to sort that amount of cans and get them ready to sell? Are there costs associated in the packaging and transport of the cans? More labor spent on the transport process? If that is a recent picture of the state of the cans, how long did it take to accumulate that much (how long since last sold)?

Hauled off as often as a trailer can be had? First mention I've seen of the need for a trailer. No one local has a trailer that they would make available at least once a week? Once a month? Perhaps they should be taken more frequently in a more common vehicle such as a pickup. Perhaps the donations sorted more frequently and people that dump trash instead of aluminum could be identified and educated on what they are doing wrong, or barred if they are not acting in good faith. If the place looks like a dump no one cares about, people will continue to treat it as such.

If the cans aren't adding up, the can-sorters have at least a couple of other options--go stand at the corner soliciting donations from traffic; or go get an entry level job elsewhere and donate the equivalent hours of pay (or more if they're all about it) to the shelter.

Would all individuals pushing the condos sign an agreement they will not receive one cent from the proposed condo contractor, developer and others involved in this project. And the city doesn't use the city credit card to entertain guests of the project.
Kickbacks usually somewhere along the line take place in these ventures. It would not surprise me of shady deals in this package. Just an amazing amount of pressure from some people to get this done. And why hasn't the property west end marina been selected? Looks like plenty of space.

1. You can't trust anything Lisa Ferguson says. She flat out lied twice at the City Council meeting last night. I watched it for the second time. Sure enuff she told us she was neutral and then turned around. Said, Bob Canida and her were on opposite sides in this ordeal. She didn't even grow up here and she claims she is a native Madisonian. She has lived in this town a little over eight years. What a loser!
2. the victimization play Krebs and the rest of the council are playing is pitiful. They just can't wrap there heads around the fact they indeed work for us. I'm sorry playing the victim when you are doing the total opposite of what the people want is shameful.
3. God Bless you Bob Canida. Your a credit to the community and thank you for standing up for us.
4. I'm very proud of the people who have stayed in the fight. The fact is the Mayor and this City Council have changed the meaning of the word public service in this town forever. I hope we can get it back next Election.

Keep the faith!
Charlie

Any and every one you are welcome to come up and help us recycle our cans. Sort through them with us as we weed out all the pet food steel cans that are left in our bin. It’s become apparent nobody can recognize the ALUMINUM ONLY signs. So, it’s stinky and gross to go through, but we do it. Why? Because that money we get from the recycled aluminum helps fund the unmeasurable vet fees paid on the daily to take care of unwanted domesticated animals this community has disposed of and discarded in one way or another.

The commissioner or mayor or whoever needs to get that shelter cleaned up. That’s disgusting .

Thevenow hasn’t flipped.

Kevin Kellems, the mayor and Tony Steinhardt sure seem to be on the take to me. I agree with the skunk man. Something stinks around here when it comes to the luxury flood plain apartments

Those of us at the shelter would like to thank you for advertising we take aluminum can donations. Yes it may look disgusting but the money we get from them is well worth it! Those disgusting cans help pay for a lot of medical bills which without that mess we would have to put more animals down. We recycle them as often as we can get a trailer to haul them. I am sorry if they are an eye sore but to us its gold! Thank you to the public who donate!!

I watched the meeting and couldn’t stop laughing at the bafoons on city council. Krebs was nothing more than a bully telling people they couldn’t say anything if it wasn’t nice. All of them except Thevenow looked like whipped dogs. The truth is they know they’re doing something wrong and they don’t want their feet held to the fire. They’re all afraid, as well they should be. For months they’ve been sitting there never responding except to whine about how people are mean to them. Well maybe if you wouldn’t treat citizens like their voice doesn’t matter they wouldn’t be so darn disgusted and mad at you. Krebs says don’t say they aren’t listening. Well news flash - you either aren’t listening or you don’t care. It’s not about disagreeing. The facts are all against these idiots . They’re either dirty or dumb or just plain disgusting for not doing what’s right. So it’s gonna end with 80 plus percent of the town hating this people if that building goes up on the riverfront. That’s alright we’ll live with paying for the rich to have luxury apartments and they can live with us shunning them for what’s left of their miserable life.
