Argue all you want. Tariffs won’t bring jobs back to the USA. Manufacturing plants won’t get built in less than five years. But more importantly : The automotive sector has become the number one adopter of industrial robots, making up 33% of all installations in the US last year, according to a 2024 study by the International Federation of Robotics. Key reasons include transitioning to more electric vehicles as well as labor shortages.Sep 10, 2024.

@Workers
Now your changing the discussion. The discussion is the effectiveness of Tariffs and who is going to pay for them
I'm not talking about giving government handouts to those who won't work. That is a completely different discussion. My point is Manufacturing as we know it in this country and around the world is never coming back the way it was in sixties. For some reason, people think it is. The Tariffs will be the vehicle to make it happen. Those people who think this way think this con-man can pull this off. This simplistic style of thinking is just not going to work out they way they think. The con-man is taking advantage of the people who think of him as America's savior. There willing to overlook things like "Hang Mike Pence, Hang Mike Pence" because they have so much invested they don't dare want to be wrong. The good news some are slowly coming around and realizing whats going on. They are starting to realize we still got it pretty good in America. It's not perfect by any means but it beats the other alternatives. This extreme way of running a government is not the ticket to Making America Great Again. Those folks who think this way should go look for a new savior because the con-man is not your answer.

Charlie Cardinal I have a full view of what's going on with how businesses have sold out the working people. The way people raise their kids to be lazy. Take the video games away, show them how you get something by working for it. We have to start somewhere to get jobs back in the states. Sitting back letting it get worse won't fix a thing. Maybe that's what you're used to Charlie

Just saw the story about the new childcare the school is pushing. Get ready they are going to spend $20 plus million of taxpayer money. Probably closer to $35 million after interest to tear down EO Muncie and build this center. You all are so worried about what’s going on on a national level while Dr Brown and her administration are going to bankrupt the school.

Keep beating the dead horse, that will fix everything. Complaining about what's going on won't help at this point. The only way to change it is to elect people who want to actually support the will of the people. As Spock said: The needs of the many out way the needs of the few.

Charlie Cardinal… If the younger generation isn’t going to work, then you like a system where the government supports them, through the taxes of those who will work?

Ok, lets say the Tariffs do bring back manufacturing. Who is going to work? This younger generation won't show up and wants to make $100,000 a year the first year. Then AI will take most of those jobs in the next ten years.

As stated before, it will take years to build the manufacturing facilities. In the meantime, the American people have to pay through the nose because of these tariffs.

For those who speak about bringing these jobs back. It's easy to say it. But when you drill down on the facts. Your view is extremely narrow.

I'm glad Trump is putting tariffs on other countries. NAFTA was the start of our downfall. Why are we buying American cars, trucks from Canada,Mexico. Whirlpool leaves Evansville 15 yrs ago for Mexico. Snap on tools leaves Illinois for Mexico. I go the Buckle and laugh at the place of manufacture and people paying way too much, not me. Converse shoes made in Vietnam. We need our jobs back here. If not your job may be next. How are you going to make it?
