Comments: Another win doesn’t mean the war is over but it’s a great win none the less. The upcoming meeting has been postponed because of threats of legal action. I'm sure Jb and Richard Ice will let you know the new date as well as Councilman Thevenow
Certainly recognition needs to go to Patrick Thevenow, Warren Auxier and Richard Ice along with two other prominent gentleman who are part of the core team and one lady. While there are too many subcommittees to mention off the top of my head special thanks to Julie Thevenow for early organizational efforts to “get butts in the seat” at those first few council meetings. Jan Vethrus for her remarkable work leading the public protest team - helping pass out signs therefore increasing visibility of the issue and helping make it safe for people who disagree with the mayor to show or speak of their concerns. Nathan Montoya continues to do extraordinary work on flood plain, DNR and FEMA. Ranie and Margie for their work getting phone calls to council members, teachers who can’t be named for job security reasons who helped lead e-mail drives, persons who prefer anonymity but worked hard on Facebook and getting reviews and pressuring the original developer Rebar. Thank you to the Readi grant team who has been reaching out on varies concerns related to the states 2 million dollar grant through IEDC- the readi board, coincidently , will also be meeting in executive season, and to the market and media team that handle distribution of information and strategy and timing of various steps in the battle against the RFD and citizen subsidized luxury housing for the wealthy in the flood plain. Special thanks to those many gop members who have worked behind the scenes as well as Councilman Joel Storm for his meeting and Josh Schafer for his survey. Whatever their motivation- in the end those efforts helped strengthen the public’s efforts for responsible, transparent and legal zoning and development projects.
I’ve no idea what will come from the executive session next week but will cover some of the obvious illegal actions by the mayor and plan commission as well as unethical and likely illegal conduct of the mayor. I’ll get back later with the meeting time —-please share and post as much information as you can about the letter concerning legal action. I’ll work on an easy summary later tomorrow. Again congratulations to all involved - no matter how big or small- the effort - everyone made a difference . Let’s see what happens - until then please know- various teams are moving forward quickly to address a multitude of remaining concerns. Tjh

Comments: Way to go Warren! Might want to alert city hall neighbors that lots of geese plan on getting cooked there soon so they can get used to the fowl odor

Comments: The report is City Council President Krebs sent an email to the Council members this morning stating, the Mayor said a legal matter has come up that also needs to be addressed at the executive session. It was received yesterday and Joe Jenner needs some time to prepare before he presents it to us. So, we are going to postpone our council meeting for this week. When I know a date, you will be the first to know. It will happen before our first October meeting.

Comments: I’d be surprised if Wallace enters any LEO again. I think he would be faced with some tough questions. Only rumors here, but it was said by some when Armstrong got arrested someone gave Wallace the dignity of retirement but made it clear he couldn’t stay. Not at all accusing Wallace of being involved with the same thing Armstrong was, but I don’t think I’d believe if he said he had no idea something was going on. It’s not a secret Wallace and Armstrong were deeply intertwined. If you look at Armstrong’s first appointment as mayor then you look at all the appointments Wallace gave Armstrong, it kinda tells the story. Armstrong was arrested Nov 16th 2023 and Wallace announces his retirement approximately 2 weeks later on Dec 4th. Is that a coincidence? Everything’s a lie, rumor, and conspiracy. Until it’s not.

Comments: No need to worry about Wallace being named Chief at MPD again, he will shortly be announcing his entrance into the Sheriff race. Looks like another 3-way primary, also there is rumors of another person entering the race as well. Have to wait and see.

Comments: Looks to me like karmas coming for Bob. All his bullying city council and the plan commission is coming back to bite him in the arse. I expect more to come out after reading about the READI grant stuff on the riverfront defense page. Personally I’m tired of his whining about how people are mean to him when all he does is threaten people and use every department he can to go after anyone who disagrees with him. He’s an awful human and so is his mean wife. They just need to leave town. I’d like to know more about how the legal case progresses. Keep us posted JB.

Comments: Why hasn’t the MPD or Bob addressed the public about an interim chief? Isn’t that something we should know? Wouldn’t that be something Mundt would also deserve recognition for? If Scudder is really out on FMLA, SAY IT. If the other allegations are true, SAY IT. The silence is suspicious. Are they backhanding Mundt by protecting Scudder? Whatever it is, SAY IT.

Comments: 1. We need more affordable housing in Madison 2. You just don't understand what we are trying to do 3. the empty lot is just an eyesore 4. Most people want this but are just afraid to say anything because they fear the outspoken mob 5. Schafers Rezoning Survey says its 50/50 across the board (for and against) 6. Only Democrats seem to be against the Riverfront lofts Correct me if I'm wrong. I may have forgotten a couple. However, these are all talking points the Mayor and his crooked City Council have used the past few months. These Hi-jackers desperately tried to change and control the narrative on this issue. Thanks to the work of many the tide has moved dramatically and the Mayors narrative has never ever transformed public opinion. This community does not want this zoning to alter the riverfront. For months, this City Council and the Mayor have tried everything to hide, bully, and lie over and over about this project. Now the table is turning on these Anti-Madisonians who have tried to hi-jack this community. There unprofessional survey blew up on them, we got the best attorney in the Midwest, and all the lies/weak excuses have failed. These idiots thought they were the smartest in the room. Guess what, The City Council and the Mayor are getting whipped daily by a savy group of people who have lived around here a long long time. The Anti-Madisonian Hi-Jackers will be hated for the rest of there days in Madison. We have a great chance to save our Riverfront. This community should keep pushing because one way or another this group of Anti-Madisonian Hi-Jackers will wear a scarlett letter on there forehead forever. It looks like we have a great chance to keep our Riverfront the way it is today. The Mayor can look for subsidized affordable housing for the rich somewhere else in the community.

Comments: So Bob finally got called out in all the bullschit on the riverfront district and luxury apt complex. Kudos to Auxier and his team of citizens who worked so hard to stand up for what’s right. That said I can’t even pick my favorite part of the letter. I really like the fact they nailed the mayor for his restricting citizens talk time and then being a blow hard fighting for the pro side which he’s not even supposed to speak. Not to mention the locking people out and not extending the meeting. I do like Bob getting called out on his hallway meeting and it’s extra special Auxier’s got him on all sorts of illegal cr@p. If you haven’t read it you should. But I gotta say the kicker is how hard the whole town worked to keep pushing that time limit and how ignorant Bob and Jenner were that they got lead down the path of delaying decisions until it was after the deadline. Again I don’t know if they are bigger liars or dipshctiz. All I know is the game is just getting started and I suspect Auxier and his team are still holding a fistful of Aces.
