The Mayor and his select committee BROKE THE LAW during today’s meeting. They did not record the meeting which is required for all public meetings in the state of Indiana per new laws as of 2025. Add that to the lawsuits.

Does anyone in this town know what a stop sign/light/arrow is anymore? Or how yielding to the right of way works? Obviously not! It's getting more out of hand now that Clifty Drive is done! And the cops using the excuse it's an invasion of privacy to put up traffic cameras. WRONG! If you are on a public road your privacy is gone the second your wheels hit it, plain and simple. I have no idea what happened to people being courteous and kind around here but I'm sure if I start carrying around projectiles and start using them whenever I see an injustice I'm sure tunes would change!

I just emailed the following letter to the members of the City Council:
I was unable to attend the September 23 City Council meeting, so I watched the stream.
Carla Krebs announced at the start of the meeting that you would not answer questions. It has appeared since May that you are not interested in a two-way dialog with us voters and taxpayers.
Carla Krebs said, "There are some of us that still aren't sure how we're going to vote."
I don't believe you.
What are you waiting for – a hand-written letter from God?
On May 6, 6 of you voted for the $4.9 million bond issue associated with the zoning change.
On August 6, 2 of you voted for the zoning change at the Plan Commission meeting.
You did that despite the overwhelming evidence that we, the people of Madison, do not want the zoning change.
But you ignore the evidence.
If you want to ignore the evidence, you schedule a meeting for the Saturday night of Labor Day weekend, to make sure that few people show up to express their opinions.
If you want to ignore the evidence, you launch a survey on Facebook (but not everyone is in Facebook) and you announce in the disclaimer and in the September 23 meeting that you're going to ignore the result.
On September 23, Carla Krebs said,
"Please don't accuse us of not listening, because we have.
We are listening to what you say.
Some examples already regarding this specific ordinance was ... it's way too tall.
So we ... took off an entire level and lowered it 10 feet.
And there were concerns about how big the area was.
So we ... reduced the boundaries to about 2/3 of what was originally proposed.
tonight we're starting to look at changing and adjusting the setbacks.
So we are listening and we are making adjustments."
If you were really listening, you would have heard us say,
"We don't want the new zoning ordinance changed by a millionth of a percent.
We don't want the new zoning ordinance at all."
When you say “We are listening”, I don't believe you.
I believe that you sit there, during meetings, in order to give the appearance of listening.
When you say “This isn't a 'done deal'”, I don't believe you.
I believe that you decided, months ago, to approve the zoning change.
There is evidence that the City Council, and the Plan Commission, and the Mayor's office, violated standard procedure.
I believe that there will be a lawsuit challenging your violation.
The mystery is why the City Council, and the Plan Commission, and the Mayor's office, would violate standard procedure, in order to achieve a goal (the zoning change and the Madison Coal lot apartments), that the people of Madison do not want.
Clearly you want it.
Why do you want it?
Why do you want it so badly?
Why do you want it so badly that you will stop at nothing to cram it down our throats?
You were not elected to do what Bob Courtney wants.
You were not elected to do what you want.
You were elected to do what WE, the voters and taxpayers, want.
I am outraged that you accept $8,865/year (https://www.madisoncourier.com/.../article_3d9674a4-3d42...) which comes from our taxes, yet you oppose us and do not do what we want.

Lots of cr@p nobody wanted no miss the days of really great art. Too much crafty stuff and country charm cheapness for me. But I think the old folks liked it. I hit the slushies in the garden at the winery.

@sad but true Sorry but as a downtown resident and someone who visited the Chautauqua both Saturday and Sunday. I found it to be amazing. Not sure what you were really looking for or expecting. I have several friends who exhibit and all said it was a great show. Madison is fortunate to have such an event. Sorry you felt disappointed

Heads up that as of 10/1 Kroger is coming to DoorDash. Given the stellar quality of dashers in this area I expect there to be multiple issues so for those of you who can't and won't do DoorDash right just go on ahead and sit this one out.

Chatauqua was a big league disappointment. The crowd was down and rightfully so. The vendors did not offer much of a variety. We need to look for new events as several of these have run their course. Big thanks to the organizers, but let’s look for a change in events and in the mayors office. God bless!!!

Madison sports is a direct reflection of how Madison operates. Nothing or nobody is good enough. And we always lose. And don’t you dare try to change anything or you’ll be outed. Madison has become a stepping stone for coaches to move on to better. Madison runs everything good out of town. Larry Bullington for 1 back in the early 2000s, Belterra after that and Wilkerson for 3. Those 2 guys literally got ran out of town and went on to hang a state championship banner elsewhere. The rumor is out. Nobody wants a coaching job at Madison. Madison even runs off their own athletic directors. They take the job and immediately start looking for another. Change change change change….just not in our back yard, right? I remember days when Madison had a booming parks department, loads of talent and coaches put the best players on the court/field. And had the communities support. Now everything is an auction. Madison will never be relevant again, in sports or as a thriving city until it does some soul searching.

Did anyone else think that the Chautauqua was a huge disappointment this year? There didn’t seem to be nearly the amount of vendors as usual. Was it my imagination?
