Comments: City of Madison speed limits are set by local ordinance unless a state road. Address the Traffic Committee whose members are Patrick Thevenow, Jim Bartlett, and Lucy Dattilo. Tell them what you need and why.

Comments: Speaking of murders and attempted murders, what happened the other night at chelsea.? That apparently ended up at the Circle K in Hanover due to their being an ambulance there.? Does anybody have any answers? I heard it was pretty ugly, almost Mafia Style. There seems to be an awful lot of I don't want to use the word dumbness, but there sure is a lot of dumbness going on in this community. It's just been over the last really, I want to say 5 to 10 years. And it seems like it's always involving Out of Towners. Maybe not always but 99.9% of the time it is. And then the locals get caught up in it. I do not know if this incident involved drugs. But apparently this guy is lucky to be alive.

Comments: Madison has seen more murders and attempted murders in the last four years than in the previous four decades combined. That’s not just a statistic—it’s a crisis. Something is deeply wrong, and the people of this town deserve answers, accountability, and action.
While Scott County’s crime rate is trending downward, Madison is heading in the opposite direction. Why? What’s being done? Where is the leadership we were promised?
A good sheriff isn’t just a badge and a title. A good sheriff earns trust, leads with integrity, and is approachable to the very people they serve. Right now, that trust is eroding. We need a sheriff who shows up—not just in press releases, but in neighborhoods, in conversations, and in the tough moments when leadership matters most.
And it’s not just law enforcement that’s failing us—it’s the justice system too. We need a new judge and prosecutor. The current approach of pressuring plea deals and wielding the habitual offender enhancement like a weapon—even when the accused may be innocent—is not justice. It’s coercion. It’s laziness. And it’s a betrayal of the principles our founding fathers fought for: due process, fairness, and the presumption of innocence.
This community is watching. We’re grieving, we’re angry, and we’re demanding better.

Comments: Maybe a female should be Chief! The perfect candidate is currently working for the Sheriff. Or maybe she should run for Sheriff. Pickel would be great for Madison!
She got my vote!

Comments: I was just reading in the newspaper that they can't have a city budget until after they see what they're going to get from the tax draw. In that sad, they never saved for a rainy day like the rest of us have to if we had any money left after all the taxing taxing taxing. But let's just build some more statues. Put some more welcome signs with Bobby's name on them or maybe some of the other restaurants. Let's not just leave it all the Taco Bell. Let's just face it Bobby is so thin skinned. He cannot stand a little criticism. And I don't know where he could have got that from, I'm sure his mom probably told him to straighten up plenty of times and quit all that whining. I know one thing I'm count the days till he's gone. Let's just try to hang on to the riverfront until then. We'll get a real mayor in here that'll care about what the people think. Not just whatever Bob's Next plan is. If it was to be treated like a mayor he might try starting acting like one. So for his act up! Pay attention to what the people say. And with that said I would surely like to see any video that they got the other night of the look on Bob's face when it got booed.

Comments: Bose McKinney Evans LLP. Is the legal firm out of Indy. They have successfully represented clients in the past against the City of Madison. Yes, they are familiar with Courtney. Additional, initial advice came from mega firm Ice Miller and several local attorneys. The legal defense fund has ample dollars at this time. BME has the first round of files and will meet with a representative of the legal team tomorrow in Indy. Tjh.

Comments: Yes- the mayor is upset with all the criticisms about his riverfront district. He’s angry about complaints related to the luxury apartment complex, his lack of transparency, using police to intimidate citizens at meetings, locking people out of buildings, magically changing applications to resolutions, and the list goes on and on. Some say they are tired of Bobs “whining” about people being negative when in fact they are simply challenging his plans. Others think Bob crossed a forbidden line when he chased Thevenow’s fiance’ or announced he was proud to be associated with politicians who support and even promote persons who protect child predators.
Yes, there’s plenty of reasons to be alarmed or even concerned about Bobs urgent push for “development”. Bob has always been controversial and occasionally odd. At times, we can all “have our moments”. But recently, people have been including “bizarre” and “out of control” along with “delusional” and other terms which convey the idea things have shifted from normal political issues to something deeply disturbing. Behind closed doors and away from Bobs “paranoid” eyes, numerous city council express grave concerns. Citizens aren’t being negative - they are worried. Worried for their local government, their riverfront , the towns financial future and the community overall. It would take too many pages to fully disclose all the fact based fears and issues persons have expressed about Bob and the direction he is attempting to lead. But, if Granny is right and it’s a “done” deal- it wasn’t through leadership- it was by dragging an entire town through deceit, betrayal and intimidation. One conversation sticks hard with me. A kind, well respected , middle of the road Republican referred to Bobs behavior and attitudes as “disgusting.” So yes, Bobs emotional and mental health have been called into question in the last few weeks. I’ve no idea what to report - other than to say - yes things look bad but it’s NOT done.
I don’t know if the mayor and Tony Steinhardt will get their riverfront district which allows their proposed apartment complex - I do know the Indianapolis legal firm representing citizens against a floodplain, luxury housing complex, subsidized by the poor and middle class to help lower rents for the rich- —will arrive this morning to an email containing files related to questionable grant applications including false statements. The file also has documents demonstrating funding irregularities, addresses misdirection of state tax dollars and brings to light a multitude of legal issues. So no Granny - as sweet and smart as you are - the battle continues.
Options include - deny the zoning OR make multi residential facilities conditional as they are elsewhere OR approve the entire “big bad pile of bullsh1t” and go to court. OR we could just build “Courtney’s Castle” a block north or on the hilltop.
Its NOT done- It’s just getting started- so keep emailing, calling, posting, talking, and attending meetings. if it were a done deal Bob wouldn’t be upset and Tony wouldn’t be hiding from the public’s “disgust”. It’s going to be a beautiful day I hope yours is wonderful as well. Tjh
