Mayor just mentioned there will be a first reading on a food and beverage tax at the next city council meeting. I get that things cost money to do but it's already expensive enough to go out to eat around here. Find something else to tax.

The study was a very remedial one done by Purdue last fall and just identified some sites that could be used for SMRs. Madison is in no way under consideration for anything nuclear. There's not even a nuke plant in the state. You should be talking about how new laws in Indiana subsidize nuclear and require business to pay 80% of the cost to build them. You better read up on that new law. Never mind it would be a cold day in Haiti before any of the local population would allow it. No, IKE will be an empty toxic waste site when their current permits run out in a couple years.

You're obviously not from here, and your terrible mindset proves it. You only want the young and rich to succeed here but you forget about those old and poor who helped shape this town too and are still pillars in this community. Your narrow mind and unkind treatment of the lower class in this town is evident and it stinks. Everyone who lives here deserves to enjoy the riverfront, regardless of class. Sounds like you could use some class and compassion yourself, maybe a move to a town where this is already happening like Carmel or Zionsville. We have plenty of other downtown spots for these apartments, and possibly the best suggestion for a place if Bob would simply bend over.

Bring on the K Road AirBNB! Obviously the complaining residents don't remember there is The Farm also on K Road which hosts large events year round and produces heavy traffic not just from regular cars but also trailers hauling side by sides and whatever other off road toys. I guess I am no one. I do want the housing development to go forward. A new tax base, modernization of our sleepy little town, not missing out on a good thing like we did with the riverboat. If you ain't growing, you're dying. Madison needs to grow. There will never be a location anywhere in town that the neighbors will agree to have a new development (NIMBY), so put it where it is proposed and move on. Madison needs an influx of new younger people who don't scream that the sky is falling if someone charges $2,500 for rent. A younger wealthier Madison is the only way to save Madison.

The Rucker Sports Complex was thriving when the Mayor was first elected. His neglect is why its in the shape it is today. Dr. Rucker got the funding in the 70s because his son Derron and the other kids his age didn't have many options to practice. He was Mayor at the time. This was his baby. Pee Wee Lakeman, Birch Johnson, Delbert Liter, Gary Van Wye, and many others put together turn key programs that made the place thrive. It did for decades until Mayor Courtney got in office. Boom! Ghost Town at Rucker Sports Complex. This is one of many examples of why Mayor Courtney is the worst Mayor in the towns history. It is not even close. I find it ironic you and your wife have been here for a cup of coffee. You two know more than the rest of us who have spent there whole lives here. Your wife feels the need to get the building inspector to go to houses and complains about upkeep of the place. She also goes into people who run business in this town and rudely tells them what they are doing wrong. Now your on the forum telling us all what is right from wrong. It's amazing how smart you two happen to be. I don't know how Madison has survived without you two all these years. Good luck getting anybody to respect your two.

I keep seeing this on Facebook. I assume it’s the new apartment developer. Don’t they know no one wants this project to go forward? What kind of company goes against Anne gore community based on the word of an alcoholic mayor?
