Comments: The mayor absolutely needs to shift his focus yesterday. He's talking about 150 new homes on the west side of the hill, and we lack something very important over here: a grocery store!

There are plans to update Rucker Fields. Also plans to build multi use sports park at Damon Welch Park. It will have basketball, soccer, volleyball, corn hole and pickleball. Plans have been drawn, but have to get funding. This will be appeasing to some, but there will be complaining by others. Damned if you do, Damned if you dont. More money will have to be allocated to the Parks Department. I can hear the uproar now. " Mayor spending $$$ again ". We all want what we want, but not for what others want.

Comments: @Charlie Cardinal When I say "Vast Majority." I mean projects like the so called affordable housing project on the river. If this was put on the ballot as a referendum it would lose 3 to 1. We are being hi-jacked by a very small group of people. I'm truly happy with this town. I want positive change that works for the majority of Madisonians. This group would rather cater to people who have books written about them such as "Roving your Way to the White House." It is an interesting read. After reading this book. You think how could the Mayor be this obtuse. He grew up on Walnut St. Rather than helping the less fortunate whos families have lived in this town for generation by trying to keep cost at a minimum. He wants to spend all his time courting broke down gypsies like John Schneider than helping the people who need it the most. The Mayors policies and lack of accounting skills are killing the little people of Madison. Ex: $1500 a month affordable apartments on the riverfront. When a much healthier task would be to focus your energy on helping the youth of our community by fixing the sports programs at the Rucker Sports Complex. This was destroyed by the neglect of his Administration. It could be fixed if he would just shift his focus. Just Sayin!

Comments: As far as the resurfacing of main Street is concerned, why should we pay for it to be done when we paid for it to be done a few years ago. Then instead of resurfacing it they just painted it. Any moron off the street knows that you don't paint a street. The paint will come off! It's been a nightmare since they did it. Go there sometime when it's wet or snowy. You can see the old lines but you can't see the new ones. Maybe this should come out of the mayor's pocket. We shouldn't have to pay for something twice. They should have resurfaced it the first time. It seems they want to do all this work but we always end up paying for it. How about giving it right back to the state.

"Vast majority" ? We have found the vast majority love this town! The only people we know that don't like this city are the ones that sit on the river at West at Vaughn and at the local barber shop. Of course not everything is perfect. The Mayor and I have disagreed and actually argued over decisions before at meetings. You mentioned the magic word, CHANGE! It's hard for people to accept. My wife's cousin who has lived here her entire life has admitted she would rather have empty storefronts and run down buildings, instead of change. She just wants her "old Madison" . I agree too much money was spent on the pool, but not as much as you falsely claim. It was $8 million for the pool and clubhouse. Many residents wanted it to be built " just like they remembered ". So the Mayor is damned if he does or damned if he doesn't. A $2 million gift was given to the pool. I do not know exactly how much tax payers money went into the pool, but it wasn't $12 million that you falsely claim. Remember, " my wife and I are in the inner circle ".lol!
I invite you to join me in finding the fun things to do here in Madison. We need to be positive and enjoy our remaining years. There is plenty to do and many volunteer positions to help make this town even better!

Comments: @Charlie Ferguson There is not been a Mayor in the city's history that has spent the money he has to date. That is why he won't share the financials. That is why we are upset about the tax hike. Then he turns around and does special favors for people such as John Schneider. Once again, Mr. Schneiders R.V. has been parked down at the city campground in an unmarked area. Which means Mr. Schneider is not paying one dime to the city. The Mayor made a special phone call to the people who run the campground and made a special spot for him. Charlie you have not lived in this town very long. You really don't know what your talking about. Your wife and yourself are only listening to the Mayors propaganda. This man and his city council is doing damage to this community that will hurt us for many many years. If your planning on living in this community throughout your life. You will one day see what we are talking about. This group is changing the way of life for Madisonians. The vast majority of us don't want it changed. Its sad and going to cost the citizens dollars we will need to get through retirement. Ex: a 12 million dollar pool that is only used for 90 days a year.

Comments: Seems to me if the worthless paid position of deputy mayor can be paid for,why is there a need for vehicle surcharge and tire tax? Maybe we should consider abolishing the position of mayor go to a city manager under the auspices of the city council and the public. Courtney and steihardt have convincingly shown the need for change

Comments: FDT: The art gallery on main Street a few doors to the right. The building they were and is in pretty bad shape. It has electrical gas and water problems. The plumbing from the rundown apartments upstairs areis leaking through the ceilings and into most of the shops. There is black mold throughout that building. They had a chance to move and they grabbed it!
