When the Mayor promoted Steinhardt to Deputy Mayor. He made a deal with Mindy to be placed in a new position as controller. In addition, she would be allowed to work from home a good majority of the time. Thanks goodness the adult in the room at the City Hall. The new Clerk talked Courtney from allowing Mindy to work from home.
This restructure of City Government was just another money grab. Steinhardt got a raise. The plan was for Mindy to go home and collect a pay check for nothing. They may say it in public. But these people do not have the right to call themselves fiscal conservatives. Just a waste of money to scratch each other on the back. We got rid of Wil, Julie, and host of others for taking advantage of us before. I guess we will have to do it again.

They kicked out several USA citizens including one kid with cancer and another still nursing off mama. There’s no way you know or anyone knows that these people are illegal or done anything illegal . There’s been no due process . Nothing in court and no evidence anywhere anytime other than a tattoo or a ball cap. News flash- you could deport half the good ole white boys in this town if you measure with tattoos and ball caps. With no day in court is not just unAmerican it’s cruel. Without due process it’s just the gestapo rounding up decent folks to ship’ em off to the gulag. While ICE isn’t anywhere near Madison can you imagine if they decided to take all our farm workers, construction boys, dishwashers and factory line workers?

As for the mayor and mayor wanna be, Steinhardt may not drink as much but he lies more and that’s a tough game to beat with Bob. Maybe the new Dems will come up with some decent candidates, I’ve heard rumors. If they are true Steinhardt won’t have a chance even if the town is deep gop.

Ice is arresting Illegal citizens. Not legal citizens. And what I've seen the kind of people we don't need or want here. So you go ahead and vote your straight ticket. They are the ones that got us into this mess.

I’m calling out the “new” Democrat so called leadership. You’ve painted and cleaned . You’ve organized, reorganized and organized again. Held this meeting and that meeting to talk and plan and talk once again. You’ve required people to fill out forms to volunteer. And while other communities are burning up social media you brag about another window display and post about your junk sales. Maybe it’s time to stop bragging about being the potty spot for protestors who are bringing attention to all the things you aren’t. Where’s our town hall meeting with Houchin? Where’s our cry to stop spending the city (and nation) into mindless debt? Who is assigned to ask just one tough question at each city and county meeting? Where’s the daily social media fact check on gop? How many racist comments come from the Governors office , or blatant lies out of city hall or shear madness and cruelty out of Trump and his congressional but* wipers before you jump in and do something- anything besides pat yourselves on the back for not being old democrats? You’re so proud of being the pizz stop you forgot you are supposed to be helping lead the protests. There's no difference between you and the old dems . You even use the same old excuse when someone complains. It’s been a month of “we need time or if you can do better then why didn’t you run”? Go ahead and keep doing nothing except bragging about being the “shiit stop” , keep coloring and by all means don’t lead. Nothing has changed except the wall color.

Welp let’s hear it again for our illustrious too much drinking and spending mayor and his side kick our economic development /deputy mayor/candidate for mayor Tony Steinhardt Jr. Another store is closing its doors downtown. There’s been a string of closures - basically one or two each month since November. So between the murders, stores closing and a multi million dollar pool filled with muddy Ohio River stinky swamp water we sure our looking , clean, safe and beautiful ???? Maybe we all need to drink, not shave or shower as a way to cope with all this “greatness”

I am curious as to why the needs of a few out weigh the needs of others. Madison is a town, not a golf course or subdivision. It's lovely you have chosen to retire here, brought your big pocketbooks and restored many homes downtown.
You have in effect made Madison a "retirement community" like the villages in Florida. Your personal need to drive around in a golf cart on city streets and impede traffic has been noted.
Can anyone tell me why golf carts are necessary anywhere other than the golf course or personal property?
The speed bumps impede your golf carts. Simple- remove them. The mayor and his band of merry men/women have seen to it that they will do whatever necessary to keep the new "retirees" happy.
There is a group of people in our town that squeak the loudest and they get the grease. Everyone deserves a voice. It shouldn't matter how much influence your money buys.
Progress is great, but QUIT spending money the city doesn't have. How's the rainy day find? Anyone checked on that lately?
So many things are going on. All that glitters is not gold.

to Seriously, yes the speed bumps were removed at the request of the resident at 715 E. First Street. On April 14 one of the concrete "bumps" was broken in half, but was to be fixed, instead the neighbor complained and the city removed the entire thing. The speed bumps on this street helped with the speeding especially with the golf carts. I can only imagine what it will be like during Regatta.
