The Mayor should provide the public with an illustration of what the new Jefferson and Vaughn project will look like. It should show the water levels of the various floods that we have had in the past 100 years. The Mayor should provide a topographical description showing how the new project will block the view from other locations. Most importantly, how will the project appear from Vaughn drive and the riverfront walkway? Is the new structure going to be an improvment of the riverfront or just something better than what is there now? Will the new structure be able to survive being underwater for the time it takes the river to go back down after a major flood? Madison had many industrial buildings on the waterfront years ago. Many collapsed after floods. Do we have builders that can do this project without cutting corners and taking shortcuts?

How did Madison let sports go to nothing at Rucker complex?? Where are people from the high school,Jr high on this matter. Could you imagine being a coach and getting players with not much experience. No wonder at varsity games they drew such a small crowd. It was embarrassing to bring my grandson from Southwestern to see such a small crowd. Maybe 350 people. Bleachers where teams sit might as well be removed. We used to get over 5000 in there. Take the phones, play stations away for awhile. You might have a good athlete in your family.

the indystar had article by Michael Hicks Sunday titled--iedc needs to get out of the real estate development business.. In Madison the mayor has let our streets become trash for what? 6-7 years now ? Local sports disappeared, golf course bleeds money. The mayor is too busy helping millionaires or soon to be millionaires. When government get into this you end up with nancy pelosi type tactics where her husband and friends seem to know early what to invest in

The auditor is responsible for Property Deductions-Age, Blind, Disability, Disabled Veterans, & Homestead, per their website. No telling how many cheats, skimmers and double dippers are out there when they don't have a procedure to catch them.

Which county or city department would be responsible to oversee the homestead deduction? I would assume it would be the county clerk.

I use the Jefferson County GIS for my job, along with GIS in neighboring counties. I want to know why tax bills have not been visible on Jefferson County GIS since 2022. I can see the 2025 deductions, such as homestead, disabled, etc. I thought homestead and disabled deductions were for property owners that live on the property, not live elsewhere and rent that property out...I can point to case after case where the same individual is getting homestead deductions on their rental property(s) in addition to their residence.

Looks like a lot of landlords around here abusing tax deductions and not paying their fair share. If you don't want to pay your share of taxes and have to cheat, sell the house to someone that will occupy it and stop ripping everyone else off.

Shame on the County for not double-checking this...should be easy to make sure an individual is only getting one homestead deduction, especially when they're double dipping in the same county.
