Let's get something straight. If you really think that the mayor does all of these great things in your sadly mistaken. There is a committee that takes care of things like this. He's just slaps his name on it. If we're going to give him credit for all the great things that's happened let's make also make sure we can credit for all the horrible things that have happened. This summer they're going to have to resurface Main street because it wasn't done right the first time just a few years ago. You can't paint a street and expect the paint to stay on. Do you know how much money that's going to cost Merchants to for having part of Main Street closed all summer?

I really have not one ounce of sympathy for the posters on this board who complain about not being able to afford a downtown home. During the early part of my life. I called things like "river rat" because I lived downtown and not in the Sunrise Subdivision. If you have been here for several generations. You and your family have had plenty of opportunity to buy inexpensive property in the Downtown location. Now the rest of the world is discovering the beauty of living downtown and buying up property. That has aloud the value of our properties to explode. Suddenly, your upset because you waited to long to take advantage of what has been right in front of your nose for years. How convenient for you to complain at this point in time about the cost to purchase a home in downtown Madison. Seems to me you shouldn't be wearing out your keyboards and coming on this board to complain about it. Maybe you should get that extra job and figure out a way to get a downtown home because the values will be nothing but going up. My great grandfather understood this in 1865 when he moved here. Maybe you should get the same clue he had way back when. Just a special Christmas post from old River Rat!

Didn’t he just redo all of the sidewalks and park on Oak Hill? Didn’t he also add sidewalks to clifty drive? The new businesses brought in up there and the DG Market downtown. The town is beautiful. He’s done a lot to clean it up.

When they started the Pace grants it was a good policy.But now under this administration it has been abused by the elite. Once again this another in a long list of one man overstepping his position. The third,fourth generation residents do not have a voice anymore. This present administration is about their tourist and loudmouth transplants that come here and want things to benefit them.
