Patrick Thevenow’s comments before the vote last night knocked it out of the ballpark. Well thought out, delivered the numbers, articulate, passionate, and delivered with class. Will Patrick run for mayor? Only time will tell, we can only hope. He will have my vote.
Was Karla’s no vote real? Time will tell.
Mr.Auxier was late to the meeting and didn’t get to sign the sheet to speak during public comment. When he requested to speak during public comments, Karla wasn’t going to let him despite the fact that at the previous meeting Julie Patterson was in the same situation, Karla let her speak . Said they had rules for a reason. When the crowd begin yelling “let him speak” Karla asked him if he had anything new to say. No one else was asked this question before speaking. It doesn’t matter if he had something new to say or not. Karla and the council need to pick a lane for this type of situation and stay in it. You can’t censor the public comments.
I hope JB puts up the link for the YouTube video of the meeting.

snort, beg to differ, but, the mayor is headed up state just as fast as he can make deals to get there!

Anyone else catch Lucy’s attempt at numbers last night? According to her there are 1200 people in downtown Madison and only 2% of the population is against the rezoning! Sounds like she needs some remedial math classes.

So now the Vote is done! We have to move on to protect whatever we can on future projects on Vaughn Dr. Beyond that I think the majority (or 2,000) of us need to make sure we vote. Who will run, how can they be prepared! We also need to find the right person to be our Mayor! Yes it’s not an easy job and I’m not sure our current mayor will leave us in good standing,, however someone needs to be strong backed and ready to take on our community. Courtney will probably end up in a private, non governmental job. That’s fine, let him go be someone else’s problem. As for our council, their stories will tell themselves. Some are a mystery, some are a comic and some are Heroes in our town!

I noticed Krebs was very disrespectful to the people of Madison. Couldn't keep off her cell phone and listen to the citizens who pay her for bad representation.
It should be mandatory for all council members to vote, one way or another. What a copout. How does anyone vote for these people. Just make sure the good people show up for the chit show when the floods come. It's going to reflect the brainless peoples desires results. NO ONE WITH A BRAIN BUILDS IN A FLOOD ZONE. Haven't done it for years.

Let me get this straight. So the Mayor and his six stooges worked against a supermajority of the Madison people last night. Then they went to Shipleys to celebrate.

If this is true. Really shows the type of people we have been dealing with. They stoop lower and lower at every turn.

Wilbur says he’s not running. Bartlett said he was done . Krebs doesn’t care because she’s moving to Schafer’s district . Even with her no vote we all know she’s a bitty and wanted to vote yes and just faked it to try to save her reputation but the truth is she lectured the public about how awful we are for speaking up. So hear me now - kiss my arse Krebs - you won’t be remembered for anything but a mean ole foul mouth who announced she didn’t care how her constituents felt. People can’t stand your arrogant self. As for Patrick - who knows . He got a standing ovation! If you believe Lucy and Krebs and Schafer neither the survey nor the petition, nor all the butts in the seats meant the majority of people were against this. Nobody ever overcame 2000 plus vote lead before you even get to the polls.so if Lucy runs she DOA since she has a chunk of downtown. Schafer’s betting on his hilltop district keeping him in so it will take all those against it up there plus some phone calls to get him out. But I’ll lay any amount ole Lyin Lucy is on her way out. It’s probably a good thing VMI fired her for failing to do her job there cause she’s going to be worthless after next election. As for Storm the baby daddy king of Madison won’t have much of chance after this even if he can pry his lips off Bobs arse or wherever. So I say good riddance to the POS who lied their way through this and good luck to any of them that try to jump over 2000 votes

I don't think the ones that voted in favor of this project care about their political futures. There are enough Courtney and cronies that will take care of them. Believe it or not some approve of what Bob is doing.

I am disappointed that Wilber didn't zoom in. The most important vote of his tenure and he couldn't bother to show up? How would he have voted? Would it change the outcome? I guess we will never know.

I think this decision will be one that our community will regret. Maybe not immediately, but in the future.

Nice to see Bob and a few of his council members celebrating at Shipleys last night. Tell me this wasn't a done deal before the vote even happened.

I totally agree with ‘not buying it’. I said before the meeting started there would be at least one if not two (besides Mr Thevenow) that would vote no, because they knew they had the votes and to try to save face. I also think Miss Krebs wants to be Mayor some day. I also didn’t know anything about these ‘polls’ going on. Lifelong Republican, but will not be voting for those who voted yes, and probably not even Miss Krebs. I don’t believe her vote was sincere.
