So….if the safety of our kids is the main concern, why is our $90,000 a year salary “safety director” Jacob McVey always hanging out at the high school instead of covering the elementary schools where the SRO’s quit (due to his absolute lack of leadership, and shady behavior)?

I’ve sent JB the link to Legacy’s annual report which shows where and how much the gave. I also included a link to their staff and board member page which shows a strong dem, gop, independent split which leans more gop than dem. Hopefully JB will post links for you. Tjh

A closure on U.S. 421 is planned for March 24, to complete a small structure replacement project in Jefferson County.

The closure will take place approximately three miles north of the U.S. 421 and State Road 250 intersection and is expected to be complete in late April, weather permitting. Signage will be placed in the area prior to the start of construction. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour which follows S.R. 7 to U.S. 50.

Answers...and the endowment was specific about what the original Bethany circle funds were for? Mental challenged people and people with addictions? So I find it disturbing the 100k salaries of the nice ladies and the inflated prices toward everything that's not for the purpose. And the democratic politicians you mention can't be an asset for the citizens of Jefferson county?

Thank you Kudos for the kind words. Truth sometimes is actually easy to write and hear- well for most people. Anyway- thanks.

Correct - kinda- the Legacy foundation is a child of the KDH Foundation. But not the same. When KDH sold those millions of dollars went to legacy fund to benefit the community. There wasn’t an opportunity for citizens to vote on anything. Lucky for our area that the dollars went to a foundation and not to anything or anyone else. When Legacy was formed a board was appointed similar to the KDH Foundation Board and Bethany Circle board that had ran KDH. There’s no grand conspiracy here. Just local ladies from a variety of political backgrounds trying to identify ways to help the community. Most of their goals are outgrowths of community health studies where citizens gave feedback to then KDH. Many are from recent community feedback sessions and surveys.

These are not local donor dollars nor tax collections. Most of their grants have been to healthcare, family, children’s causes etc which DIRECTLY benefit our area. For example- I may not have agreed that they donated to the massive over spending on the city pool but I did agree that a public pool is important to our families and children even if it would have made more sense for the majority of the population to have a new pool- less costly pool on the hilltop.

I’m not sure what you are upset about. I wish I could help provide information which would reduce your anger and resentment. I’ve called their office - these are responsive, kind people who want to hear what you have to say. But surely you have some cause that you believe in and would like to discuss rather than just scream an opinion over and over again. Perhaps if you could say what needs help- readers could direct you to funding sources. I know I will certainly try to help you. I believe helping those in need is critical to our success as a community, state, nation and specie. So toss out an idea or two and let’s see if there’s funding there. Tjh

Seems where Bethany Legacy Foundation got all their money was left out. The money all came from the hospital and when it was purchased Bethany Legacy became independent of the hospital taking tons of money with them. Directors and managers at the hospital spent lots of time putting together proposals for things they felt important like bonuses for long time hard working employees that get the pleasure of working next to traveling nurses making two to three times what they make. The answer was no. Proposals for medical equipment they had been begging for for years that would result in better patient care. The answer was no. They took all the money that came from the hospital and walked away with it while giving nothing back to the people that earned the hospital that money in the first place.

Why do we need so many Parks staff when we do not have a summer youth program since the present administration took office. And instead of throwing more money in Brown Gym which is mainly for adults, and all the tourist parks.
Let's use all resources and funds to get our communities
Children back to playing ball in Madison!!! Children before transplants and tourists!!!

Bethany legacy foundation is so a community fund set up by Bethany circle years ago for the people of Jefferson county. If it weren't why would you have had a so called election? That nobody voted for anyway. That nice group of con woman and company...hi jacked the funds basically
