Comments: I totally agree with the post below. The reckless way of the current process is not good for America. Then the incredible lies about the success is not helping the people. It just creates confusion. I listened to Kristi Noem say a couple weeks ago. “People don’t trust the government.” I get it. What I don’t get is the blind faith that this President is going to fix it all doesn’t make sense to me. All this guy has done is divide us instead of unite us. The absolute faith that somehow he can drain the swamp that will benefit the masses is a long long shot at best. What he has achieved is make the swamp darker and much more frightening.

Comments: John there’s a difference between painless and cruel. There’s a difference between a controlled process like under Clinton and this cluster fruck of illegal firings not to mention having to rehire certain civil servants that oversee critical functions like air traffic control or our nuclear arsenal. It’s a bigger picture than just government spending. And we all know nothing changes unless the bloated defense spending is brought under control.

Comments: Great points John! But to faith in the current President to fix this problem is like throwing a Hail Mary from your one yard line on the last play of the game. You said yourself u were holding your nose when you voted. This tells me you had some precaution by voting for him.
Just sayin!

Comments: The National debt is $37.5 TRILLION dollars and is UNSUSTAINABLE. Every president since Reagan has warned about uncontrolled deficit spending and neither party has embraced spending disipline (or balanced budgets). Raise taxes? Cut spending? I wonder if the public opinion of the exposure of waste, fraud and abuse, (including bloated headcounts at federal agencies) would be different if they had been exposed by Price-Waterhouse, KPMG or other high profile public accounting firms instead of E.Musk. There is NO PAINLESS FIX. Which federal agencies should be exempt from spending cuts? Which social programs should not be changed? All Americans will be impacted in some way, form or fashion, as we are all touched in some way by our governments "generous" spending priorities. It won't be pretty, but, it beats the alternative.

Comments: Sorry JB about your neighbor the veteran. It may not mean much to Musk and Trump but I think most Americans are really upset that Trump is picking on Veterans. You are rights that’s a lot of VA staff to fire. What he did to the joint chiefs of staff and firing them is bad especially replacing with someone not even legally qualified to take the job. Then you have him calling veterans cowards and losers and of course his latest stripping of all the history off Arlingtons website of some of our bravest like the Tuskegee Airmen and WASPs. It took a huge number of calls and emails to get them to allow the Black Medal of Honor winner back on the site. Musk and Trump have disgraced this nation and treated our veterans like they deserve nothing. Thank you for your service and sorry about your friend.

Comments: Eighty three thousand(83,000), that’s a pretty big number, too heavy for me to carry.
It’s the middle of March, winter is being stubborn, just a little reluctant to give-up.
A few days ago my neighbor, a disabled veteran “gave-up” he just up and killed himself. He had mental and physical health issues which were being treated at our local, short-staffed, VA Medical Center, which was already overloaded with too many sick veterans.
It may sound as if I’m painting all veterans sick, that’s not the case, But if you were in a foxhole or hiding behind a tree dodging bullets or being harassed by some dumb 2nd Lt. You might be just a little off your rocker. No big deal, we’ll give you a band-aid and A pill. You go home now, quit whining; all will be well when you get back home, but it’s not THAT EASY.
So, what’s the big deal. Jefferson County is the home of about three thousand(3000) +or- veterans. Many of these veterans who served our country honorably depend on the Veterans Administration(VA) for their health care and compensation for injuries or sickness that occurred while on military active duty.
How many will have to die because the Commander-in-chief, a draft dodger, decided to take away some eighty thousand(80,000) VA medical support personnel? A doctor or two won't matter, the draft dodger throws out.

Comments: I think everybody is so used to the mayor being a scam artist that we’re blaming the city when maybe we should be looking at Hanover College. Let’s face it, Hanover College isn’t the cream of the crop for colleges. Its enrollment has been on a downhill slide for numerous years and they have a history of pretty cr@ppy professors including a few drunks and weirdos that claim to have put explosive devices around campus. All that aside if the money for the “death trail” as some are calling it, was a grant to Hanover College and the Town of Hanover then it’s not Bobs fault - it’s the colleges. I agree it’s a foolish idea to put people in front of moving vehicles. I also agree there’s nothing scenic or calming about dodging semis and power plant dump trucks. So who do we talk to or does it even matter. These days it seems like people are protesting everywhere and politicians don’t care; they just do what they want- and right now we have a lot of dumb politicians.

Comments: I’m a little concerned about the recent on again off again promotion of a “new” Miss Madison boat that’s basically an ancient hull from the Budweiser days more than 20 years ago. Don’t get me wrong I love the races and it’s nice to see our names splashed around. I’m just as vain as the next guy and the sound of Miss Madison on the speakers makes me puff up. But the idea that someone or some group is going to have to cough up a ton of money just “to see her run one more time” (according to a mm board member in the local paper) is setting off alarms. Hopefully those in charge of this campaign to raise money will be clear that the donations or sponsorships or “memberships” are just a hope for one or two more races and not the big promise that the mayor made a month or so ago. There’s no money there to race a quality boat. And I’m not in the mood to replace my community pride with the never ending humiliation of finishing last in every heat. I love MM but I don’t want tax dollars going into a dying sport especially one where we can’t afford the best to compete and we’re just rummaging around h1 garage sales looking for parts, engines and drivers. We all grow up. We all age and maybe we need to rethink and consider a wonderful MM retirement program instead of trying to dress up a75 year old and send her to prom.
