It's a mystery how all along you couldn't build in the flood plain. Alot of reasons were given why you were told NO! Now wah la, those problems don't exist,.
I would suggest the citizens get their lawn chairs, pack a picnic basket, bring some beer. When the flood comes go down and watch all these new residents scatter like rats for high ground.
And be amazed how the elevators work under water. Handicapped residents will be in turmoil. I guess a new parking lot will have to be built close to the property taking someone's property. The water and sewer dept could forsee future problems.
This is an ill conceived plan with not much foresight. Did these people help with the Titanic?.
Madison is slowly turning into a Pigeon Forge. Alot of houses downtown are now abnb. You have alot of room on the hilltop to build condos, a pool, gated community's, clubhouse.
Take a picture today along Vaughn Dr. Sounds like it will be overrun by expensive flooded housing.

I stand corrected. Charlie is right! Lisa Ferguson is Bob's #1 fan. Karl Eaglin is #2. Both will do for Bob whatever he wants. On top of that she just moved here about 8 yrs .

One thing which has not been discussed on this forum. It is a darn good thing people got together last City Election and helped Thevenow defeat Lisa Ferguson in the primary. She is at every meeting running her mouth and it is all about Courtney's agenda. She runs around town like the Junior High School monitor and sticking her nose in everybody's business. She has lived in this town for a cup of coffee. Yet, she thinks she knows better just like Courtney. Nobody likes this person except for Courtney and his sicophants. This person doesn't have a job. I don't know about her previous work experience. She has nothing better to do than be the town troublemaker. I think if you look up the word "loser" in Websters Dictionary. It will say "See Lisa Ferguson." I wish she would find something to keep herself occupied because she is clearly not winning friends and influencing people.

Karl Eaglin is Bob Courtney's biggest fan. He has and will do anything Bob wants regardless of the outcome. The
three members that voted no and the city attorney should never be able to represent the citizens of this town anymore. I encourage everyone on this site to get everyone they can to call their city council representative and let them know how they feel.

Shame on Storm, Eaglin and Laughlin for being the mayor’s pawn and willing to snub neighbors and friends. I can’t believe they just sat there like there wasn’t a thing wrong and decided they were entitled to break the law. I’ll be calling my sister who lives up in Storms area and giving her an ear full about voting for Storm. Any elected official who is comfortable enough to sit in a public meeting and vote to violate laws about informing the public needs UNELECTED as soon as possible. This is horrible that these guys think it’s perfectly fine to break the law.

answer to the questions who voted to keep going even though it was clear it was illegal and how do I contact those people.

Mr. Laughlin voted to continue despite it being illegal. I do not know Mr. Laughlin, I believe he is a county appointment. To my knowledge he has not ran for office so I dont have his phone number for you. I believe, but am not sure yet- he was appointed by the County Commissioners. Kudos to Commissioner Little for attending the meeting. Unfortunately, the commissioners appointment was willing to break the law - perhaps the commissioners will look at that - maybe not. I do know in the past the commissioners have excused persons from their board appointments for inappropriate conduct and comments to the public. Perhaps an open willingness to violate public notice laws as part of ones vote will be enough. Your commissioner numbers are located on the county website or just call the courthouse and leave a message.

Mr. Eaglin also voted to break the law- which, on a personal note both surprised and deeply disappointed me. But I truly do not know Mr. Eaglin, I have only seen him serve on other boards. He was appointed by the mayor. So I dont suspect their will be any problem with him continuing on the board despite his public declaration his is willing to violate the law concerning citizen rights to know.

Mr. Storm is a city councilman who represents District 5 on the hilltop. Part of the area by the Highschool and Jr High from Oakhill to Rabbit Lane and west. Also, the Northside of Crestwood to Clifty Drive and west side of Michigan Road. I don't know if Mr. Storm is planning on running again. This is same district that Darryl Henderson represented for years and then Curtis Chatham- both very honorable men. You may reach Mr. Storm at 812-821-5493. I believe his home address is on the city website. Or you can check his candidate records when he filed to run for office.

I would just like to know why the Commission didn't take up a vote on a special meeting at a larger space rather than adjorning. As far as I know, that is their choice as long as legal notice is given.
