Comments: Patric is a nice guy and is very much in tune and supportive of student athletes.
AD is a very demanding job. Parents make it worse. Good luck finding officials. (See Parents/Fans).
Patric had plenty to clean up after Super Joe. Somehow Lazy Joe ended up at Center Grove after leaving Madison athletics in shambles.
It seemed Patric had things heading in the right direction…especially with football.
Basketball is heading in the right direction too.
As far as the new AD goes…. he or she will more than likely be from Jennings County like many of Brown’s administrative hires or a school board member.
She doesn’t care about athletics.
Brown’s only focusing on building the $15 million early learning center(daycare).
She’s got the funds to build it now….. tax dollars. Property taxes won’t go down now that the board approved her request for a massive bond.
Say good bye EO Muncie and hello money pit.
This center will pull more money from the education fund than the preschool is already.
Adding care for infants and toddlers is a complete waste of the school’s money.
Teachers and staff could use the money more than a daycare….raises, educational materials, etc.
Students could benefit from the money by using the licensed staff to create smaller classes for elementary kids or add staff to existing classes to provide more one on one instruction for children struggling.
Last fall some of our students at Rykers Ridge were being merged into a bigger class while some employees in the system were moved to work the new daycare at the Jr High.

Comments: Say NO to a 5-Story Apartment Complex on Our Historic Riverfront!
Our riverfront is a treasured part of our town’s history and charm — not the place for a towering apartment complex that will forever change its character.
Let’s build something that brings our community together instead. An Open-Air Shelter for Our Farmers Market:
✅ Plenty of parking ✅ Room for food trucks ✅ Picnic tables for families to gather ✅ Supports local farmers and small businesses ✅ Keeps the riverfront open and accessible to all
This is an opportunity to preserve what makes our town special while creating a vibrant, family-friendly space for everyone to enjoy.
Let’s protect our history — and invest in a better vision for our riverfront.

Comments: I can honestly say in all my years of attending school sports, I never once worried about whether or not the athletic director was attending the game. Pretty said that the busy bodies have nothing better to do than worry who is attending a game and who isn't. If they have the time and show up for a few minutes and leave, will they be scrutinized for that also.

Comments: Again, the locals bubba logic is confounding. An AD is "good" because they show up to the sporting events??? And somehow lazy if they don't? That's like saying a hospital administrator is good because they show up to the surgeries. Wholly unnecessary. The AD has a full plate of work to perform to get the game to start, the actual game itself is under no control of the AD. The AD should already be working to get the officials and scheduling right for the next event...

Comments: You know who they are going to get. Don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. Next what makes this AD LAZY? Did you not get your way? Did your son or daughter not get to play? Is the AD ruining the sports mecca for HS athletics in the area? Just because a guy seems easy going, laid back, type B personality doesn't mean he is not doing the job. How many games did not happen because the officials did not show up? How many times did the game not happened because there was no transportation? I for one needs some proof! So please, inundate us !

Comments: It's a sad day when the AD feels he needs to resign to have a family life. As a parent of an athlete, I saw first hand what the AD and AAD had to juggle daily. I only saw a fraction of what their day consisted of. The AD and AAD are more involved than our previous AD ever thought about. Patric has worked for years to correct Bronkella's terrible legacy of "good 'ole boys". At least with Patric and Devin, there was an athletic representative at all sporting events. Bronkella would only show up if one of his daughters was involved. The MCS admin has really done an injustice to Patric and Devin by not supporting them as much as is needed.
Patric as such a step in the right direction from Bronkella, unless Devin takes the helm, Madison athletics will start on a downward spiral. Getting Bronkella out and Patric in place was a huge success. Now he's gone. Hopefully Devin can pick where Patric left off and continue to advance Madison Athletics away from the Bronkella fiasco.

Comments: A little more info to help folks understand- I don’t think it’s the season was wishing harm- no one wants anyone hurt-so be careful- don’t hold fireworks in your hand. Remember all the loud bangs are very distressing to wildlife and farm animals. Combat veterans with PTSD struggle greatly with fireworks as do domestic cats and dogs. Each year thousands of dogs and cats are lost or end up in shelters because they ran from noise and were unable to find their way home. Some are hit by cars, some starve to death, others are euthanized because new homes can’t be found. Be sure your pet has a collar - use a marker to add your phone number of even tape looped around the collar.
Downtown residents should bring pets in - especially during the Regatta fireworks display. Hilltoppers remember one night of noise is preferable to four days of continuous stress on pets, people and wildlife. Don’t forget our weather has been uncommonly hot and dry and fire hazard will increase as we get closer to the 4th. Perhaps consider safer, kinder celebrations. Attend the Regatta display instead. Donate to the local shelter or veterans programs or save to buy eggs lol. Hope the clarification helps. Tjh
