Bobs always been thinned skinned. You can’T disagree with any of his decisions or he goes after you. He uses city hall to threaten people and that’s exactly what he did this time. I don’t care if she did or didn’t flip him off. Tons of people have said and done more. Bob is not well liked and that’s the truth. But come on who here hasn’t flipped or been flipped off and who then raised such a fuss to get someone fired from a volunteer position. From what I hear this lady is very nice and caring person. Bobs a bully and all he’s done is rant and rave at Thevenow especially over Pat disclosing all the condo schemes. So now Bob chases after Pats Fiancee and trashes her to the board? I say post every dirty secret about the mayors family if he’s going to chase down someone else’s fiancee and trash her then it’s time for him to take a big dose of what he dishes out. Tit4tat.

Please post this: I’ve lived in this town all my life and haven’t seen anyone as thin skinned as Bobby. Things have gotten out of hand with him threatening and insulting anyone that disagrees with him. He whines someone hurt him and his family’s feelings then zooms after the fiancée’ of the only Councilman that stands up to him ? I heard his wife was kicked off the CASA board and that’s a good thing because of all this. But I also heard Bob was threatening CASA’s car show the way he threatened Bob Little and Kenny Washers big Memorial Day show. So is that why CASA did what they did just to keep Bob from going after their event? Can’t believe CASA would agree to hurt a good volunteer just because Bob got his feelings hurt. I suggest we all drive by his house and flip him off

So the mayor and his batshitz crazy wife chased after councilman Thevenow’s fiancée because she supposedly flipped them the bird and then Bob proceeds to ask some group to kick her off being a volunteer for that group? What a looser. He can dish it out but sure can’t take it. I’m surprised Tjh helped him by asking JB to delete the post.

Regarding the proposed six story condo unit on Vaughn Dr. I would think once one building is allowed in the flood plane that would set a president and allow anyone to build there as long as basement parking is included. Once you open Pandora's box you can't close it.

The mayor reached out and politely expressed the post be removed. He said the information hurt his family - so I asked Jeff to delete it. He may have deleted the post about the rumor thinking I meant both.

It doesn’t matter much- since I posted about the rumor I have received video, emails and conversed with CASA board members. I will be forwarding everything to JB and posting later today. Tjh

I read in the local paper where the deputy mayor was bragging about the local factories were hiring. These places he listed don't pay a living wage, which means that many of the employees need some sort of assistance that comes from our taxes. What this adds up to is those business owners getting richer off our backs. Is JCIDC still in charge behind the scene? They always did everything they could the prevent High paying business's from locating i Madison. I was really hoping Courtney would change that way of thinking, but is the same old thing. It's getting to the point where anybody without a degree or working in a trade can no longer to live in this city.

Late Sunday night the one big beautiful bill (1bbb) passed along party lines by a vote of 17-16 with 4 of the far right MAGA voting “present” to move out of committee. The bill is deeply unpopular with the vast majority of citizens —- only the coldest hearted of the top tier wealthy persons and big business delight in their tax handouts at the expense of massive Medicaid cuts scheduled to take effect in 2029 among other unpopular and costly changes. It’s an intentionally messy bill meant to confuse the public to help reduce resistance to it. So watch closely over the next few months.

Locally the Medicaid cuts will mean no healthcare for many of our citizens especially our children as well as place grandma’s and grandpa’s nursing home care at major risk since Medicaid is the primary payor for nursing home care. The vast majority are Medicaid and so some facilities face the risk of closure should the bill move to votes in the house and senate to become law sometime in the next months and certainly within the year.

In addition to over half of all local births are Medicaid births (national average is 40%) and rural hospitals have a huge percentage of revenue coming from Medicaid. Without hospitalization and maternity income, rural hospitals will be closing. Locally it isn’t known if Nortons will hold open KDH once it becomes a financial drain on the corporation or if they can find a way to increase revenue from other yet unknown streams. Between the hospital and nursing homes, Jefferson County (like most rural areas) is at risk of loosing one of its major employers. Healthcare is a top local employer along with auto and education (MCHS- Southwestern-Shawe-Hanover College- Ivy Tech). So job losses in healthcare are expected if the bill passes and is enacted. The upside is the nationwide nurse-doctor shortages will ease quickly as those laid off in rural area will drive or relocate to bigger cities making less demand for luxury condos in scenic, tourist districts.

I know many hope “something happens” to stop or change 1bbb and so do I. Hope is a great thing- but it is not a plan. Protesting is a great but uncertain thing as our local riverfront condo for the wealthy have demonstrated. But if you want to stop 1bbb (and the condos) you’ve got to change the minds of those who vote in favor of it. Or you have to change those who vote. One way or the other- you need to call and keep calling and let your voice be heard. Unlike the condos which will be built before the next election- you can vote in midterms to replace those who voted in favor of 1bbb. So that means calling our missing in action, never have a town hall Congresswoman Houchin who can’t seem to keep her office open or answer calls. If you get her- make your voice heard. The data shows Houchin can be defeated in this deep red area. Like many other gerrymandered districts it will take all Dems voting and pulling the majority of independents. More on this later.

One last thing- Walmart announced prices will increase in June- maybe that’s their way to create a run to support declining sales- I don’t know. But you will pay tariffs and Mexico will not now or or ever pay for a wall. Hopefully the day gets better - unlike to share some good news —- Tjh

Last I checked, golf carts were not allowed on any stretch of SR 7 with the exception of crossing at Orchard St. Has that changed? If not, someone needs to tell the older couple I saw doing just that that I will call the police on them next time. The vehicle driving is bad enough as it is, let's not let the golf carts get out of hand now. It's people like that that make living here so difficult.
