Comments: The city has owned that lot since Dee Bennet passed. They could have turned it into green space. Made it an attractive parking area and overflow boat parking. They could have done anything besides turn it into the junk yard they’ve used for years. So if you want to complain take it to city hall for Bob and Tony because it was their decision not to do anything reasonable with it. For the record that lots been on Bobs spending hit list since he stepped in for Welch. and according to the variance request to rezone it’s not just this lot- it’s BLOCKS- along the riverfront including Fireman’s Park . So put the blame where it goes and that’s TonySteinhardt and his hairbrain economic development plan with Bob shoving it down the public’s face.

Comments: Josh Wilbur is supposed to be the president of the plan commission but he’s just really Courtney’s shut up and sit still boy. He’s like a whipped pup. All night long, whenever a citizen said something , Bob couldn’t help himself , he had to argue back. Wilbur never once ran the meeting and stopped Bob from dragging things out. In fact it was the Bob and Tony show all the way. This wasn’t a commission meeting, it was just Bob arguing with every single person. So many people where there they lined The hallway and outside. Lots just left before it started. The whole thing is a mess.

Comments: The simple fact is the GOP doesn't care what you think. They know they could dig a big hole and tell you they are helping you as they shoot you and push your body in the hole and still get re-elected.

Comments: Oh yeah, let's keep an unsightly empty lot rather that develop it into something useful. You people think it's your property. It isn't. If it isn't degrading the area, let them build it.

Comments: The proposed condoms that evidently only the "mayor" and his deputy "mayor" verge on the reason of stupidity. Building in a flood plain and benefiting only a few more than likely part time residents. What and how could the city possibly benefit. I want to hear from the historic board why are they silent? If you want to make any changes to your personal residence, then you must appear before the inquisition and explain why and are the changes you want inclusive and cohesive to the historical theme of historic Madison. How in God's green earth would Courtney Towers fit into this? There are already several examples of the boards failure to put their money where their mouth is concerning new construction. Perhaps the idea of recalling the mayor should be considered

Comments: Speaking of homeless do you readers realize there is a couple living in front of the Crystal Beach entryway. They are not hiding. They live under the lights for everyone to see. I guess its the pool in the summertime and a homeless shelter the rest. This is what 12 million gets you.

Comments: Folks need to understand that the proposed zoning change in order to build condominium units on the river is not a Republican or Democrat issue. There are people from both sides of the fence vehemently opposed to the zoning change.
Zoning members do the right thing. DO NOT give a favorable recommendation to the city council. Listen to the people.
City Council Members also need to listen to the people and do the right thing.
Preserve our riverfront. Once it is gone we can't get it back. This project benefits a small group not our community. It's wrong for Madison.

Comments: Standing room only and tons of pizzed off people about the condo project tonight. Horrible meeting. The mayor kept interrupting and the board just sat there. Finally they adjourned and we go back to a bigger, air conditioned space. This is the dumbest thing ever. We have homeless on Main Street and the dynamic dumbarse dou of Courtney and steinhardt think dumping money into luxury condos is the way to go. Supposedly they already have plans for fireman’s park area .

Comments: If the condos are approved for the riverfront, then the Historic Board and Ordinance needs to be thrown out.
Also, the reason for the $5M from the City is to pay for a parking garage under the condos since garages can be built in the floodplain at taxpayer expense rather than passing that cost onto the owners of the condos.
This is no public/private partnership which benefits the community. It
