It's like anything else. If the kids aren't learning they have to have more money for the schools...duhhh..until america becomes less greedy . And starts doing what they know is right.

@jOHNb - Spoken like a man who knows nothing about how our educational system works and just has a political axe to grind. The education of our students is controlled by the state. This state for the last 30 years has been totally controlled by Republicans. The conservative nitwits are the ones who ordered teachers to stop teaching to their ability and knowledge and to teach to the test. That I know of we are on our 3rd set of standardized test. So what we are teaching has changed at least 3 times. Since we have tied teacher performance to the test scores who can blame them for teaching to the test and nothing else.

If you want to grind a political axe grind away. But don't blame the teachers, blame the one who really got us into the mess, the conservatives in Indianapolis who think they know everything.

Dear @Dumb America ....You would think that everyone would want an educated nation. You cited: "Dumb people can’t get or keep jobs. Dumb people have more poor babies, dumb people do more drugs and create more violent crime. Dumb people make really bad voting decisions". Well, the 1.8 million members of the American Federation of Teachers might take exception to your characterization and conclusions. The AFT has a vested interest in keeping the status quo. The "dumbing down" of students has been going on for years. A study published by the Discovery Institute back in 2021, and has gotten worse since the pandemic shut down, cited: National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) test results; 71 percent of our students lack basic academic proficiencies at the end of their 13-year K-12 schooling. One of the major political parties has a vested interest in its relationship with the AFT, and maintaining and growing a generation(s) of academically challenged constituents. (This same political party strongly rejects auditing the federal Department of Education for examples of fraud, abuse, and inefficiency)
These are the citizens whose hope for the future are represented by the promise of expanding social welfare bebefits. As long as left wing idealogues continue to deliver the goods - free cell phones, medicaid, SNAP, rent, utilities, and on and on, they insure their political viability. Also, there is likely little incentive for the folks receiving these benefits to improve themselves (because they don't know how). Not politically correct, but, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." Instead of simply providing someone with a temporary solution to their problem, empower them by "teaching" them the skills they need to solve it themselves, ensuring long-term independence. It begins in the classrom. Good luck.

Do the women of the Bethany legacy foundation work every day? Are they in the office for questions and meetings every day ? Or do we have to make an appointment and like once a month they meet? I can't get answers from them?

Dumb people make really bad voting decisions and honestly I need some smart kids growing up to pay my social security and Medicare. It’s not that hard to understand why you pay taxes for schools. It’s the same thing as why you pay taxes for fire departments even though your house hasn’t been on fire or you pay for police even though you never needed their help.

I believe the plan is to stop educating any kids who can't afford to pay. They'll make places in the factories for them.

Why do you mind paying taxes to educate children? I don't care whose children they are, I consider it a privilege to contribute to their education. I don't care whether it is through the levy of a tax or because I choose to buy a book and gift it to them. Who paid for your education? Who will the working class be in 20 years that have to pay for your care if you go in a nursing home? Maybe they'll all be on welfare and you can enjoy care that reflects what they are able to pay in.

After years of surging tax bills for Hoosier homeowners, Gov. Mike Braun is pushing to cut property taxes and set caps on annual increases.

But local school districts would feel the sting of his proposed limits because they rely on that money to fund transportation, debt service and capital projects.

Property taxes are the largest source of revenue for local governments.
